Livery Designer Help

I want to design a livery that uses a large circle on one of the upper corners of each 1972 Stock Car. However, when I try to position the circle layer so that a third is on the roof, a third is on the front of the car and a third on the side of the car, the circle gets elongated down the side of the train. I’ve fiddled with the projection settings, but I can’t seem to achieve the result I want. This is a rough idea of what I want.



Any ideas how I might achieve this?

 

What if you did a 1/4 circle on each of the three faces?

 

That might work, but with the 1972 Stock cars having a curved roof, it might mess it up. I’ll certainly give it a try though. Thank you.

 

I might give it a try too if that doesn't work to see if I find something.
