I think that the livery designer really needs some improvements. Here is what I think needs to be added to the livery designer: - Higher layer limit. A limit of 300 layers is a bit too low for those who want to create detailed liveries. I think that raising the limit to 1000 or more would be better. - Paint types. Limiting paint colours to be glossy makes it harder to recreate certain liveries. Adding different paint types like metallic, matte or even chrome would let players be more creative and create more beautiful liveries. - Decal designer and decal sharing. A decal designer can be useful for making logos and signs that you might want to use across multiple locomotives or wagons. This feature would help save time and pain of making the same logos over and over again on individual locos, and allow you to make a logo once to use on any piece of rolling stock. A dedicated part on the Creators Club for sharing decals would be helpful for those who don't want to spend hours on making logos and signs for their liveries. - More fonts. The default text font in the livery designer doesn't look very good and can ruin some amazing liveries. Multiple font types, perhaps ones inspired by text used on real trains like train numbering, warning signs and logos are much needed. These features would help livery creators make better looking liveries while wasting less time. Pretty much all of these features are inspired by the racing game series Forza Horizon, which has arguably the best livery designer of all automotive/vehicle games. Tictac logo created in Forza Horizon livery editor. In Forza Horizon you have the ability to find and use community made locos and decals.
Forza probably has the best livery creating system in gaming! Another feature that neither game has that would be nice to have is the ability to create a text box decal where you can type what you want and create it as one decal. It would not only save layers, but a lot of time. I believe some newer Need For Speed games have that feature.
