Many would agree on this forum that there should be more diversity in the countries that are featured in TSW as there are only 3 main countries with routes and the rest only have few or none, and a lesser talked about country that could be cool to see in the game is Slovenia, a small country in the eastern Alps and part of the former Yugoslavia. Slovenia’s railways are operated by the state under the company Slovenian Railways (SŽ for short). I think the best route to appear in this game would be the railway line between Ljubljana and Maribor, serving various towns and cities along the way and containing 30 stations along its roughly 100 km path. Now for a bit of history to contextualise the route, it was built in the days of the Austro-Hungarian empire to link the Austrian capital of Vienna to the city of Trieste on the Austrian Riviera, having started construction by the Austrian Southern Railway in 1839 and reaching Trieste in 1857, 18 years later. Today it is electrified the whole way and operated by ÖBB, SŽ, and FS between the 3 countries that the line passes. Time for the rolling stock on this line, which I’d say it probably most people’s favourite part of a suggestion. I’m going to start with the fastest train that operates over the line, the SŽ Class 310 Pendolino. This train is used on high-speed express services between the 3 cities on the route: Ljubljana, Celje and Maribor. They can reach speeds of 200 km/h and tilt around curves, and were constructed by Fiat in 2000. Next is a locomotive that has already appeared in TSW, the Eurosprinter, or more specifically, the SŽ Class 541. It has been featured in numerous German routes already, as the DB Class 182, so the only thing required to reuse it in this route is a new texture of the Slovenian livery. These locos were built by Siemens in 2005 and are used on both passenger and freight services. Finally, is a regional EMU that is the workhorse of this route, the Siemens Desiro, or SŽ Class 312. Although it is the same family as the British Class 700, it externally shares no resemblance, although the look slightly similar to the contemporary Bombardier Talent. They entered service in 2000. I’ll conclude this post by saying that it would be cool to see representation of more obscure countries in TSW as there’s only so much you can do with UK, DE and US routes. Preferably this would be in both TSW3 & 4, although I know that’s not happening… Overall, I think this a neat route with a variety of services and nice scenery that could be really cool to see.
Not a fan of even more modern trains, but I'd love to see a new country in TSW. Slovenia sounds like a lovely country.
Let me guess a TSC route that needs to be in game. For DTG RSSLO can make it for TSW4 Speaking of this It's the ÖBB Voralbergbahn TSC Three Country route ÖBB Baureihe 1216 in Slovenian designation. If made first SZ541 can be reskinned into 1216 including 1216 025 Fastest locomotive 1216 012 Nightjet. These two are seen in Three Country Corner route as the EN40415 Zagreb Zürich Hb usually behind the 1016/1116 to power it over the Alps Arlbergbahn
I forgot to mention that the recently released Vectron could work as a layer on this route, as ÖBB sometimes operate long-haul services down to Trieste via this line. Also, a potential DLC that could work for the route is the modern SŽ Class 510, built by Stadler as part of their FLIRT family and delivered just last year. They closely resemble the BR Class 231/745/755/756 or Swiss RABe 526/528 and although many don’t like like the look of these units, I actually think they look quite slick.
Oh you dont know how much i'd love to see Slovenia in game!! But i would much rather see it set before 2021 when SŽ 311/315 nicknamed Gomulka was still running SŽ 311/315 source
Interesting and for the nickname it's a Polish politician just like how SZ664 was named after Ronald Reagan. If SZ had a GDR made locomotive then it's named after Erich Honecker Walter Ulbricht
