The LMS Duchess Class is a locomotive operated by LMS, it is a steam locomotive built in 1937 made by Sir William Stanier as a competitor to the LNER A4 Pacific's made in 1935. 6229's streamlining makes that quite clear. The steam locomotive weighs 161 tons (including tender). It would be a good loco and would expand the steam variety.
Brilliant suggestion and would love to see one in TSW! Although (in my opinion) they are not as good as an A4 or as good looking as one they are really powerful locos which have a real presence when stood next to one.
Rebuilt version definitely looks nicer than the streamlined but either just as good. If the streamliner was done would really need the matching LMS coaches to go with it, though.
All of the Princess Coronation class (not all were named after Duchesses) were rebuilt prior to nationalisation. Duchess of Hamilton had its streamlining restored in the last decade. Would love to see it in the game though. Planning to see Duchess of Sutherland when it runs into Windsor tomorrow.
