As of today, my Train Simulator install has been behaving very strangely. Three main symptoms have been loosing the scrolling screenshots on the loading screens, severely increased loading times from the route and scenario editors into the game (often causing windows to trigger the "not responding" message), and the fact that it sometimes fails to reach the loading screen when starting a scenario from the main menu.
For reference I haven“t modified any settings or installed any content that would cause this.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Hard to say. Could be a performance issue on your hardware. Back up your files and try a fresh install. Check your disc space and fragmentation.

I had exactly the same issue over the last days/weeks and was able to resolve this by reinstalling DirectX 9.

In fact, the loss of scrolling screens is caused by the "potato" servers, a situation that typically occurs during the loading of updated ADs.
