With the UP Heritage SD70ACe Pack and NS ES44AC Heritage Pack, I want to see more heritage units in game. We even have routes for some of these engines. -Pack 1: BNSF 25th Anniversary ES44ACs: I think the 10 BNSF ES44ACs the railroad added logos of predecessor railroads to count as heritage units. We should get these engines for Cajon Pass, as well as standard H3-liveried BNSF ES44ACs. -Pack 2: CSX Heritage ES44AHs: CSX is painting some of their ES44AHs in new liveries that celebrate the fallen flags that merged to form CSX. Some of the units haven't been unveiled yet, but when they are, we could see these engines running over Sand Patch Grade. -Pack 3: NS Heritage SD70ACes (and also NS #1700, an ex-Erie Lackawanna SD45-2; also GP59 #4610): With the recent release of the NS Heritage ES44ACs (except for the Conrail unit, which is a pity), we should see the NS SD70ACe Pack be made. All 20 of the NS Heritage Units would be awesome to have assembled all together at NS's shops in Altoona on the Horseshoe Curve Route. NS also rosters a former Erie Lackawanna SD45-2 that they painted in the EL livery as a heritage unit. They also had a GP59 that was painted in Southern RR green, but the engine is now painted in NS black. I'd like the SD45-2 and the GP59 in TSW3. We could get GP60s and other liveries for the SD45-2s, too. (GP59s are lower-horsepower GP60s with 12-cylinder 710 engines; GP60s have 16-cylinder 710 engines) -Pack 4: CN Heritage ET44ACs: CN repainted some of their ET44ACs in heritage liveries. They also have a single SD70M-2 painted for the Grand Trunk Western RR. We could get the CN units as well as ET44ACs in other liveries too: UP, CSX, NS, BNSF ET44C4 and ET44C6H, and GE/Wabtec Prototype liveries. -Pack 5: Amtrak P42DC Genesis Heritage Units: We need P42DCs in TSW3, but we would need a route to run these locos. If added, I want to see all the heritage Amtrak P42DCs. -Other Heritage Units: -Metra SD70MACH, F59PHI, F40PHM-2, and MP36PH-3C (route needed for these engines) -CPKC SD70ACUs (CP maroon/gray passenger livery; route needed for these engines) -Metro-North P32AC-DMs (route needed for these engines, too)
I think before more heritage skin packs are made, DTG need to implement a system that ensures 100% the livery does not get duplicated. Nothing worse than seeing two copies of the same unique loco in world. But yeah, other than that sounds like a good idea. I'm not personally interested in livery packs myself, but they seem like a great way for developers to make easier money to put towards route/loco development; while also fulfilling peoples wants for more specific units.
