Loco Suggestion: J94 - Wilbert

I’d like to make a new steam loco suggestion which could tie in with an overhaul fundraising campaign.


Wilbert is a J94 loco currently awaiting overhaul and based on the Forest of Dean railway.


Wilbert was named in 1987 in honour of Reverend Wilbert Awdry, famed creator of The Railway Seriesand Thomas the Tank Engine.


The cost of the overhaul is expected to be over £100k.


Accurascale model railways have recently created a new 00 gauge model of the loco and profit from the sales will go towards the overhaul project.


It would be amazing if DTG could join in with the fundraising and create this loco with some of the profits going towards the overhaul.


Other than Thomas we do not have a tank engine on the sim and I think it’s about time we had one.

 

This would genuinely be amazing but some dumb higher ups still thinks steam doesn’t sell so we probably won’t get it.

Honestly even with the current steam state they sold well

 

And they (and third parties) still add steam railtours in to new routes.

 

Oh my god, yes! I don't particularly like steam, but this would be such a fun idea!

Especially if it helps itl efforts, I will buy this.
