Introduction The West Anglia Mainline is an Electric Railway in the United Kingdom, running between London Liverpool Street and Cambridge, and a branch to London Stansted Airport, the line is ~63 miles long In this suggestion, I run over the route, the rolling stock and operators, run through my reasoning and some information, and hope I can make this seem interesting to the Playerbase! Operations Operators Arriva Crosscountry (XC) (Without Abellio Branding) Greater Anglia (GA) (Without Abellio Branding) Stansted Express (SX) Rolling Stock Class 317/7 (GA/SX)* Class 317/8 (GA/SX)* Class 379 (GA/SX) Class 170 (XC) *The two 317 variants aren't differentiated below because they mostly ran the same services really Services In this section I run over the Services available, and how many tph there are. All of these will be layed out like so: Start Station (if different, in game start station) - End Station (if different, in game end station) {Operated by -----} [X tph] Ok, let's get into this. London Liverpool St - Hertford East (Broxbourne) {Operated by Greater Anglia}[2tph] - Class 317, 379 Stratford - Bishop's Stortford (Fast) {Greater Anglia} [1tph] - Class 317, 379 Stratford - Bishop's Stortford (Slow) {Greater Anglia} [1tph] - Class 317, 379 London Liverpool Street - Cambridge North (Fast) {Greater Anglia} [1tph] - Class 317, 379 London Liverpool Street - Cambridge North (Slow) {Greater Anglia} [1tph] - Class 317, 379 Stratford - Meridian Water {Greater Anglia} [2tph] - Class 317, 319 London Liverpool Street - Stansted Airport (Calling at Tottenham Hale & Bishop's Stortford) {NX Stansted Express} [2tph] - Class 379 London Liverpool Street - Stansted Airport (Calling at Tottenham Hale, Harlow Town & Stansted Mountfitchet) {NX Stansted Express} [2tph, only one of these services stop at Stansted Mount.] - Class 379 Stansted Airport - Birmingham New Street (Cambridge) {CrossCountry} [3tpd] - Class 170 Stations Termini in Bold London Liverpool Street | Stratford Hackney Cent | Lea Bridge Tottenham Hale Northumberland Park Meridian Water Ponders End Brimsdown Enfield Lock Waltham Cross Cheshunt Broxbourne Roydon Harlow Town Harlow Mill Sawbridgeworth Bishops Stortford Stansted Mountfitchet -------------------------------------------------- London Stansted Airport -------------------------------------------------- Elsenham Newport Audley End Great Chesterfield Whittlesford Parkway Shelford Cambridge Cambridge North Map of the route. Some stations around London excluded. Route facts: The route is around 63 Miles long Has 28 Stations The Maximum operating speed is 80mph (130 km/h) Maximum I have chosen the route to be set in 2011, shortly after the class 379 was introduced, shortly before Abellio Greater Anglia took over. My personal reasoning: General Reasons Firstly this route offers 3 operators, and 3 (4 if you want to include the 317 variants) Trains, so variety is there. Arriva Cross Country have featured in Train Simulator before, and are an operator I would love to see brought to TSW. Rolling Stock Choices (also why this era) Class 317: This unit truly does have a commuter feel to me. It fits perfectly, and, due to the era, it operates on the Express as well. Class 379: Yes, I know. Another electrostar. Well, what's wrong with it? It's not like it's the only train here. Class 170: Well beyond the obvious fact that these are the trains Cross Country operate this line with, these trains are one of the most common trains in the UK. This sets up routes virtually everywhere in the UK. Final Words Whilst I can't speak for others, I personally would love to see this route. The route offers variety in a nice era, and would be the first "Main Line" heading north out of London in the game. If you support this like the post and vote in the poll, and feedback is appreciated. And if you don't support it, why not? I'm happy to hear critiscm (As long as it's constructive and not just abuse) As per usual, thanks for reading. Edit Log: 2/5/21 - 18:40pm - Added Rolling Stock to Stansted Express (Fast) services | Added Edit Log 3/5/21 - 17:00 - Changed the Operators & Era from Nat Ex & 2011 -> (Without Abellio Branding) Greater Anglia & 2020, and made the relevant changes. (As you can see in the reply section, the Abellio logo hardly appears on trains anymore).
the class 317 it's exactly the same train as Scotrail Cathcart Circle Class 314 which means DTG can simply copy and paste those in to here. Example to that is Hanseatic League the main line where Dostos are from Main Spessart Bahn DB BR112 from RSN MRCE BR182 Rapid Transit. Here's the thing Abellio Greater Anglia is owned by the Dutch Railways NS due to the arrow logo. DTG needs NS Dutch Railways license to add Abellio & NS routes in United Kingdom Netherlands and Germany. The bundle for that is going to be Dutch railways Abellio East Anglia to Duisburg. Which means it comes with the other route suggested in the forums Hook of Holland Rotterdam Arnhem Duisburg Railway.
317’s look different to the pep’s It woukd be set in the national express period Also there is no narrow stripe on the new greater anglia logo, however their origional logo featured it
I bypassed the Abellio issue by making it NatEX. Also why would having the Abellio license even make it so that there would be Dutch route coming "with" it? As for the 317 it's not the same as the 314, there is a massive difference.
NatEx didn't licence either - You'll see GEML and the ECML stuff for TS Classic is unbranded. 314s and 317s are very different trains. Thought they do have there equivalents - 315s that used to work the metro services at the London end were Scottish 314s with an extra car inserted. Similarly the later design 317 was adapted for Scotland as the 318 - though Scotrail has since rebuilt the front ends of them.
If you look at Abellio uk about us it has a direct link to the Dutch Railways website. Which is the parent company of Abellio East Anglia and Scotrail for Cathcart Circle route.
I know but getting the license doesn't mean there is a guarantee of a Dutch route. Plus Glasgow Cathcart has nothing to do with abellio. At all.
Try getting a class 317 Class 321s and Diesel trains of Class 156 type should have Abellio logo. That's a newer class 745/755 train.
Also what I was saying was you said there was would be a "bundle" including Greater Anglia & Dutch Railways just because of an Greater Anglia route (despite this having nothing to do with Abellio).
I had to bring it up it's the operator for this route that includes Stanstead Express and greater Anglia services. Because players will need to know the company operating the route. Otherwise they're going to assume it's an existing railway operator.
Looks like they changed it between 2016 and 2021. The same diesel train might appear branded on GWR but this one is blanked out.
In the sub-heading of operators I clearly state it isn't abellio... Nobody would assume because they would have read it.
I'm actually using the real life version of the route that's why I had to mention Abellio Greater Anglia. Main page is this https://www.greateranglia.co.uk/. Thank you for telling me about the National Express choice.
Yes well the real life version wouldn't have mattered had you read the suggestion fully before reply.
Abellio Greater Anglia is its legal name Abellio is the parent company, but has done a joint venture with Mitsui They do not use that name for branding, no Dutch railway stripe/ narrow arrow Don’t think I know nothing, I live right near lots of major greater Anglia stations
Thank you for telling me about it and what I meant is the arrow logo which is also found on Dutch Railways in blue colour. Speaking of this route are there boat trains Cambridge to Harwich or not
1 per day from London to Harwich IIRC - far fewer foot passengers than there used to be and a few routes have gone freight only.
