Xbox London Commuter Class 166 Gwg Svcs 1005 (07:31) & 1007 (08:31)reading To Gatwick Airport [part 1]

Hi

I'm a bit of a novice on this route so it could well be something I'm doing wrong

On London Commuter Services 1005 (07:31) & 1007 (08:31)Reading to Gatwick AirPort [Part 1]

I've tried a couple of times on each & I'm finding I'm getting stuck on a red light at signal T492 awaiting clearance to Redhill Platform 1, it's only a 6 minute service & the signal is on red for at least 10 mins (I haven't waited any longer), just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue, or is it something I'm doing wrong? (Contacting signaller just says denied, wait for signal to change)

Hi Dave

I'm a PC player and just tested both these services and they are bugged.

I would expected the intended game play should be that you contact the signaler to get permission to enter the occupied platform 1, as the Gatwick train is due to depart before the other train.

The signal does eventually clear but you do have to wait for the 07:52 on platform 1 to leave. With the second service you have to wait for the 08:54 to leave platform 0 and then the train on platform 1 will leave. You can complete both the services, but no chance of getting gold being so late.

Having done some further testing, it looks like all the 166, platform 1, double occupancy services are broken. Services I have previously completed and achieved a gold medal for, are now getting stuck at reds, and you have to wait for platform 1 to clear.

I have raised a ticket with DTG for this.

I've also tried these. At some point I had completed the 08:31 service in the past without problem.

However, I hadn't completed the 07:31 1005 service and I encountered the red signal at T492. As correctly mentioned above, you've got to wait for the Tonbridge service to depart, around 07:53 I believe. Additionally, when you drive the return 0800 1V06 part 1 service back to Reading, you have to wait another 10mins at a signal outside Redill until 08:22.

I believe what the problem is being caused by for the signals into Platform 1 at Redhill are that they are now not showing a 'Call-on' signal aspect. Basically, the signal should be red, but have the two white lights to proceed to an already occupied platform due to the Tonbridge train already being there - thus, now with only a red signal being shown, the only option is to wait until it clears.

Interesting, this is highly frustrating thing to happen. These particular services are among some of my favourites on the route.

 

I should have made it clear that I would expect the call on white lights to enter the platform.

 

I can also confirm this happens for me on PS5 version too

 

Have you tried any other GWR services on London Commuter recently apart from the ones mentioned in this thread to see if they also have red signals without the call-on aspect shown? I'm hoping this is not a new issue since the last update.

 

(PC Steam) On the Gatwick-Reading service 2V02 (departing 05.58), I am getting held up at signal T496 immediately south of Redhill.
My road is to platform 1 and a 377 unit is occupying the platform.
Would be expecting a call-on signal to enter said platform but had to wait 14 minutes for the 377 to depart and finally got the proceed yellow aspect.
Was 15 minutes late but got a silver medal.
Was I meant to depart Redhill to Reigate/Reading earlier than the 377?

On Part 2 of this service (Redhill-Reigate) I found out that the 377 service was to Tonbridge and was on the same platform behind me. I can only assume I should have had the call-on signal in Part 1, departing before the Tonbridge service.

 

No, you were doing everything correct, there is an issue now with the call-on signals not showing anymore since one of the updates to the game from a couple months ago - I hope DTG can fix this soon as these are some of my favourite services on London Commuter.

You should be getting the call-on signal for platform 1 - the Tonbridge service should be stopped at the northern end of the platform. As such, your Reading service should arrive and then very shortly depart from the same platform to Reigate while the Tonbridge departs later.
