This is the start of several mini-suggestions that I have in store you here, mainly ideas for smaller stuff like potential route/timetable updates and even possible expansion pack ideas. With this first one, it might seem a little too early to suggest this, considering the route in question hasn't been properly announced yet, but I still want to do a suggestion thread on this as this is a subject that is inevitably going to be brought up. So for those who don't know this yet, during the December roadmap update, it was teased that the upcoming UK route from DTG will be the London Overground line between Gospel Oak to Barking Riverside (more commonly known as the Goblin). It was also teased that the main loco for that route will be the Class 710 'Aventra' EMU. It's currently unknown what 710 variant it will be, but I think it's safe to say it will be the dual-voltage 710/2 variant, as that the one that operates on this route right now. Which leads me to the subject of this suggestion which is... 'If that's the variant coming with this route, is it possible to have it add London Overground services to the Bakerloo Line at some point down the road? I bring this up because that's another route that the 710 mainly operates one, and that this point, London Overground services are really the last thing the Bakerloo Line needs for it's timetable to be fully complete (except for me WCML AI, but that's another subject entirely). It would also help the 1972 already operating on the outdoor portions of the route and help create a greater diversity of traffic on that general area. As for the services they would add, they would be predominately running on the outdoor portions of the route between Queen's Park and Harrow & Wealdstone, running 4 trains per hour in each direction on services that usually form part of the Watford DC Line, running from London Euston in the south, up to Watford Junction in the north. Also, while this area is usually blocked off, these services would use the Willesden TMD area, as that's usually the main depot for LO services on this route. It could also be possible to add AI LO services running along the high-level platforms at Willesden Junction, but I feel like that area is more served by Class 378's than 710's (unless you're talking about the 5-car 710/3, which I don't think will be included with the Goblin route, unless it's for AI purposes around Gospel Oak). I know it's probably unlikely to happen right away from this routes release, but still an interesting subject worth bringing up as again, it's inevitably going to be brought up when said Goblin Line gets properly announced and when it's inevitably get's released sometime next year. Also, this would a great excuse to finally uncover some of those covered over areas on the Bakerloo Map, as these services would have to use some of those areas like the Overground platforms at Queen's Park or the lines heading away north of Harrow & Wealdstone or even the general Willesden TMD area. Excellent suggestion, this is something the community should be lobbying for as the Watford DC Lines feel incomplete without the London Overground services.
I could be wrong but I think it was Matt or someone else from DTG said they won't be adding it into the Bakerloo Line since it's an old route or something like that which if so is a shame because I strongly agree with this suggestion and would be nice for the 710 to be layered on. I do hope someone at some point they do do this though
Ok first off I would like to say great suggestion mate but I don't think its going to happen anytime soon, But when it comes out we can do it in free roam mode so I really cant see a big deal in not seeing this thing on the bakerloo line
I would love to see the Class 710's to feature on TSW4 on the Bakerloo line as it adds realism. I am hoping for more future London Overground content after the Goblin line. Not long till the roadmap!
For this to work they’d need to add AWS and possibly make the tunnels at Kensal Green bigger, this shouldn’t be too hard.
