Pullmans,Freight,Passengers and Luggage.London Victoria a busy train station in the south of England.Dover a city on the south coast. And a bustling railway connecting them. This 75 ish rail connection has a peace in the game but a lot has changed since the 1950’s and it would be nice to see the scenery and steam spitting trains of the southern railway.A famous train to run on this route was The Golden Arrow a first class Pullman.A scenario for this route could be called Robin Hood and it would be a double header. So this gets us onto our next topic The Trains The SR West Country, Battle of Britain and Merchant Navy classes both original and rebuilt The BR standard 7MT 7 SR S15 SR Schools Class I think I might of got something wrong
For southern based steam this is a good suggestion but something south west might fit better steam wise. Especially GWR steam era.
I have suggested similar in the past but in the 1930s rather than the 1950s, but either way, I would be curious to see a route like this in the game. There is actually a lot of source material out there should DTG wish to look into this route. I would recommend they look at the book 'Down the Line to Dover' by Muriel V Searle from 1984, and you can also use the British Newspaper Archive which has a lot of information on it. 'Down the Line to Dover', I believe, has timetable information and details about Golden Arrow and local services over the ages as well as images of stations. The book was recommended to me by whoever was using the Southeastern Twitter account when asking for this history of the line.
