The next London Underground line should be the fantastic jubilee line with real skill needed to line up with the platform doors

Thought Jubilee Line trains were automatic and didn't have drivers?

Dockland light railway is driverless and automatic, the jubilee line has drivers

You sure? Thought Jubilee was ATO and the person at the front was to operate the doors and take over in an emergency.

The Jubilee Line has drivers, as the ATO is only at GoA level 2 (Grade of Automation). This means that the driver is there for vigilance (emergency situations such as dealing with track blockages), plus opening and closing of doors. Basically the same as the Northern Line, Central Line and Victoria Line. It is certainly not like a fully guided driver-less transit system (that you see at airports, etc. which are GoA level 4 - fully automatic).

There are videos online from BVE - regarding their (recent) simulation of the Jubilee Line, which includes the challenge of manually landing the train at the right spot for the platform doors. The trains can, of course, be driven manually - I don't think the ATO is active from the depot, for instance - it's really there to improve tph frequency (Trains Per Hour), when running in passenger service.

So day-to-day operation for a "driver" is pretty much getting to/from the depot and opening and closing doors. Doesn't sound like much TSW fun unless there are a few emergencies thrown in.

I agree. The next underground line should be either the Metropolitan or District line with S stock as they each have quite a few branches which would add a ton of variety. In fact I'm surprised they didn't go with those lines ahead of the Bakerloo.
