London Underground Metropolitan Line (1970s)

  1. This route would feature the Metropolitan Line of the London Underground as it was in the late 1960s and early 70s.
    Route:

This route would feature the Metropolitan Line from Aldgate to Uxbridge, Watford, Amersham, Chesham, and the Stretch between Hammersmith and Barking (now part of the hammersmith and city line).

    Services:
This route would simulate the Metropolitan Line's complicated timetable of the 1970s. From Aldgate most trains run to Uxbridge and Amersham, with a limited service to Watford (other services from this station mostly terminate at Baker Street). Until the 2010s, the Chesham Line was served by a Shuttle Service. This line would simulate that by having the Shuttle run between Chesham and Chalfont and Latimer.
At Uxbridge, most trains go to Aldgate, with a select amount of trains terminating at Baker Street. From Watford the majority of trains go to Baker Street, with a select few going to Aldgate.
At hammersmith, in the 1970s, the majority of services would terminate at Whitechapel, with some going the Barking in the Peak Hours.

    Stock:
    This route would include:
    A Stock:
The A Stock entered service on the Metropolitan Line in 1961 and was used for all services (except the Hammersmith-Barking Line). It runs in 8 Car Formation on most of the Line, but the Chesham Shuttle runs a 4 Car Formation
    C Stock:
The C Stock entered Service on the Circle and Metropolitan Line in 1969. It was used on the Metropolitan Line on what is now the Hammersmith and City Line. It predominantly was used in a 6 Car Formation, though was configured to also run in 4 or 8 Car Formations.

    Layers (Into the Route)
    1972 Tube Stock LT:
This train, part of the New Journeys Expansion Pack, would be layered and run between Wembley Park and Finchley Road on what is now the Jubilee Line.
    1973 Tube Stock:
Should the Piccadilly Line get made, if a 1973 Stock in the Correct Livery is made, it could be layered and be used in a limited-service between Uxbridge and Rayners Lane

    Layers (Out of the Route)
    C Stock:
If a District Line route is made, then the C Stock could be used as a Layer on Wimbledon to Edgeware Services

    DLC:
    CO/CP Stock:
This train was formerly used on the Metropolitan Line. It was transferred to the District Line in the 1960s. In the add-on, it would be used on services between Barking and Aldgate East. It could also layer on to a District Line Route should one be made.

Overall, I think that a 1970s Tube Line would be the best way for DTG to make another Underground Line. The 1970s is underrepresented in TSW, so it would be a great start to add. It has lots of Variety and its TS Version (Although made by JT and set in the modern-day) is popular.
The 1970s was an Important Era for London Underground: The Piccadilly Line was extended to Heathrow. The Victoria Line was extended to Brixton. The Jubilee Line Opened. The 1972 and 1973 Stock entered service. The C Stock Entered Service and the East London Line became its own line. It would be a great addition

No thanks. I would want it in modern day and not set in the 70s. It would be odd that we have a modern london underground route but then get a historic one. They should all be set to modern day. And no a stainless steel train is not plastic.

  4. I personally think a Retro Underground Route would be good looking foward. Plus, when did I mention plastic trains?

Bring in GWR 5700 Duck TFL Maroon and Sarah Siddons locomotive with Class 438s as coaches DLC. Or Sarah Siddons Locomotive with a reskinned Class 20. Bonus is that owners of Sarah Siddons locomotive with Class 20 can use the Maroon Class 20 on where the original TVL version can be used for example Cathcart Circle Railtours.

I think to please the Modern fanatics and Classic Fanatics, the route should be set during the S Stock transition period (2010 - 2012) as there were A60/62 and S Stock trains running.

Sorry to quote myself and bump the thread. However having now experienced the S stock in TSC I fully recant the above, though I would like the A60’s as well. The S stock is actually quite nice certainly compared to Electrostars and I would not be averse to seeing the equivalent of the JT route in TSW using this as a fleet. We would have the advantage of an all day timetable unlike the specific scenarios of the TSC version. With the TML WOS 3 now firmly relegated to my software dustbin we need something contemporary to replace it.
