Hi I do not post a lot on these forums but I have got a question and if anyone know the answer or anything about it please let me know. So I’ve been thinking if there is ever going to be another London Underground route, and yes I know we already have the Bakerloo line but personally I think it’s out dated and badly modelled and I think a sub-surface route such as the district line or the Hammersmith and city line would quite nicely, this would mean there would be AI services at barking on the London overground suffragette line. And if dovetail could not make either of these for any specific reason I would also be happy with the Elizabeth line (or crossrail) although technically not an underground line I think that would work ok aswell. Sorry if I’m going on abit but I have also seen on the may 2024 roadmap it says ‘uk route’ by I think Just Trains, does anyone know what this is. Thank you and let me know what you think of my suggestions!!

Nothing announced regarding another Underground route, plenty of suggestion threads on here if you search for them.

No, the next Just Trains route in the UK is not known. Plenty of speculation in the General Discussion forum.

I hope it is London Underground. It would be incredible and Just Trains would do it justice. We need more Underground routes and TFL are in need of more money fron the train sim world franchise.

How on earth do you come to that conclusion? And how would you know this?

The weekend spam seems to be in full swing - can count several "Underground" threads marching at the top of the forum.

If the posters want to be taken seriously they need to be explaining the attributes of the particular route and matching it to the LAMP process, not just one line "I wanna..." entries.

Sadie Khan said that he would need government help to continue the funds to maintain trains especially as the new Elizabeth line was costly.

They would never turn to a game for money, that's just ridiculous.

Licensing TfL brands is actually a growing part of their business plan. They said a couple of years back that they could make as much as £50m per year from it. Though a TSW licence would be a very small proportion of that business stream.

TfL's earnings from TSW would barely pay the cleaners.

I think you are grossly underestimating TfL’s cleaning budget. We would be in a very healthy place with TSW if it could pay for it with licensing from two routes.

I understand that. However, the London Underground is such a great network which I am sure many players want to play that TFL would be willing to assist DTG with their projects

That makes sense to me. The money raised by DTG would make it a win win for both companies as this money would benefit TFL and also get a selling product for DTG

I totally understand all of your comments and they all make sense. It would greatly benefit TFL though which could just be a small improvement that they could make to their network.

TfL's operating budget is just short of £8 Billion.
A (third) TSW route isn't going to "greatly benefit" them - as I joked (generously) previously, it would barely pay the cleaners (barely covering one).

The only thing it would help TfL with is brand exposure - but with them threatening to take national embassies to the International Court of Justice, and the fact they control all non-Rail trandport within London (and, obviously, the Tube + Overground) - I doubt they really need more, nor care about, the exposure.

The only reason TfL have to co-operate is because it's cool for people who are interested in trains - the same ones who will potentially look to get into the railway as a career or whatnot.

I'll side-step the legal issues as I don't know enough about that to comment. Nor, personally, do I care. There isn't a large organisation in the UK that's not involved in legal action of some sort. I know because I've been dealing with commercial litigation claims for 25 years.

While commercial licensing deals are a small part of TfL's income it's a revenue stream that they are hoping to grow. I think trying to pin any income from DTG against any other part of the TfL budget is hopelessly simplistic, bordering on hilarious for anyone who understands how businesses work.
