Hmm, this could be interesting. This is the 172 mile West of England line.

That said, we already have routes through Exeter. The major one is Western Mainlines, from London Paddington. We also have a Barnstaple-Exeter, which I believe is DPSimulation (free!). Riviera in the 50s obviously goes south. Western Mainlines also connects Exeter to Penzance through the South Devon (to Plymouth) and Cornish lines.

The best thing we can do is check routes from Exeter. There is a South Devon & Cornwall route that goes to Honiton. Something else on the route Umap lists a route as "TS_FREEWARE" from there to Axminister. I see no connections there for any existing projects. Templecombe is eventually reached IRL and connects to Somerset-Dorset, but that goes north. We continue east. Going north at Salisbury goes along our route, with a merge at East Oakley. We end at Basingstoke. The line continues to Farnborough, crosses under parts of the original Portsmouth Direct line that are not covered in the version to Waterloo (this might be an interesting merge, actually), and eventually connects with the branch to Woking. At this point, the Portsmouth Direct Line to Waterloo covers the route.

So summarizing, we would be starting from Woking and going west. It's too long for DTG to tackle as a single DLC. If anything, you might be able to get to Salisbury, but that's the most you can hope for out of a single DLC. The question is whether they would cover Exeter-Salisbury as well, at which point you can merge it with the Exeter-Paignton line and go all the way there if you desire (or even continue along Western Mainline South Devon, to connect to Plymouth, and eventually Penzance on the Cornish, which is disconnected from all of this on the Steam side).
