Have read a lot about how since the recent update Rapid Transit will need another patch to fix issues and this will arrive shortly, but wondered if LIRR is in the same state or is more or less complete. Was hoping to give it a shot but will hold off if more changes are expected shortly
I think you're better of with waiting for the hotfix, as currently there are quite a few issues. It's playable, but annoying at places and it should be significantly better after the hotfix, going by what they've said the fix will include. Because as it is currently, the ATC will give you a 15MPH limit before every station stop, there are floating stop markers at certain stations, some services at New York Penn are stopping on the middle of a crossover switch and with the two ends of the trains at different platforms, and things like that. The hotfix apparently will fix most of these big issues, then hopefully it will be a much better experience, as there are good things to the update as well. Like the PIS is a nice addition, even though sadly it's not really accurate to the route. The new train routings on the main branch are also great, and while the audio is still far from perfect, it has some improvements. Sadly the M7's sounds are bugged and not every car produces motor sounds, and we don't know yet if it will be fixed with the hotfix as it was apparently new info to them yesterday, but hopefully it will be fixed soon as well.
Oh brilliant! thank you for the response. So if i've got this correct the routes that are worth holding off playing are RT, LIRR, MSB, ECW (for PIS), West Somerset Railway and Bakerloo. All other routes have updates that are some way off and are unlikely to improve for some time
Well, yes, I believe. Though out of these I'm only interested in LIRR and Bakerloo, so don't know what the situation is with the other ones.
