I enjoy creating scenarios and occassionally publish them. I focus on standard scenarios based on real timetables. So far, I've stuck with the UK because I'm from there so it's familiar, and also because current and historical info on passenger and freight movements and train formations, certainly in the last 30 years, is surprisingly easy to come by. To make a change, I've made a Railjet scenario on RSSLO's combined Südbahn route (RJ553 from Vienna Airport to Graz if you're interested ). Info about ÖBB and other passenger services in Austria is very easy to find, and thanks to the marvellous vagonweb.cz, you can easily reproduce realistic formations. What I can't find is anything about freight services, even general information about what kind of freight runs from where to where. So, my question is, where can I look to find out about what kind of freight goes up and down the Südbahn? And as a player, would you be fine with some fictional but somewhat realistic freight services in a standard scenario? Disclaimer: I only know a few words in German (though Google translate means I can cope with German website) and have never been to Austria (though I would very much like to - a Railjet ride would be on my bucket list), I just think the variety of trains and liveries and scenery makes for really nice gameplay.
Some of the wagons in those consists are wrong as they are UK Wagons from the Kuju folder. Have a look at this video of a run from Leoben to Wien and you can see the sort of freight workings on the line. Alternatively look at some of the scenarios for the route on RailSim.de Peter
