The route seems to be a nice ride and the scenery looks nice, and I’m a big fan of the older locomotives and the N-wagon so I’m very attracted to this route.

But what concerns me most, is how do the trains actually drive? I’ve seen there might be a braking problem with the 103, nobody seems to know if it’s a bug or not though. I don’t particularly want to drive something that isn’t performing as it would irl. Any help on that would be appreciated.

I know a lot of people are probably going to suggest getting Niddertalbahn, which I agree looks really nice, but I’m not sure if it’s really my pace. Linke Reinstrecke is more appealing to me right now.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I can definitely recommend this route. It is very scenic and there are plenty of express, stopping services and freight. You get two new locomotives albeit they drive very similarly. The DB103 drives like a DB110 with alot more power for express end to end services mainly. The brakes are indeed far too powerful on the DB103 and to a lesser extent the DB110. I hope its a relatively simple fix because brake modelling is usually done very well.
There are a few niggly issues with the rolling stock and the route such as non changeable destination board on the cab car. You can alter the board but it changes back to blank almost immediately is probably the most immersion breaking thing. A problem brought over from Bremen - Oldenburg that was reported then and not fixed but maybe they squash it this time? A few people have reported signalling problems but I haven't encountered any yet. A couple of issues on the route itself but no biggies as far as I have found. The biggest thing is a big patch of the river Rhine has its water texture/map missing but im hoping they are going to fix that one in the patch.

Niddertalbahn and this route will supplement each other very well because they share the DMU. I hope this helps.

Love the route. I think you can mitigate the harsh braking in the 103 by keeping an eye on the gauges. I don't know exactly how all of this should work, but here's what I've noticed from my experimenting:

If you move the driver's brake to minimum, and leave it there, it seems you're letting a lot of air into the BC- it'll go from zero to 2.5ish somewhat quickly, and you will brake very hard. And obviously you'll keep braking as the gauges reset, so your speed will reduce very quickly.

I've noticed if you put the brake on minimum and release it fairly quickly, you'll put about 0.8 into the BC and brake much more gradually. Not sure if this is how it's supposed to be operated, would love to have someone in the know enlighten me.

Yep, I really which someone from DTG could talk us through it, or perhaps they don’t even know themselves :/

    Thanks for the insight anyway.

I'm still on the fence about his one and think it will take a concerted effort by DTG to fix the glaring errors before parting with full price.

TBH having already got the route in TSC, bearing in mind it goes on to Frankfurt, plus the 103 - other than the all day timetable don't think I will gain much.

Feedback seems very good overall. But I’ll probably get Niddertalbahn first, and then get Left Rhine (as well as some other new DLCs like Edinburgh-Glasgow) later on discount. Niddertalbahn is just so different from anything we’ve seen before and is made with lots of love (and no time pressure!). I feel a lot better paying the full price for such a route. Honestly, I’m willing to pay lots money for this hobby because I really enjoy it a lot, and the conversations on the forums and DTG streams regularly brighten up my day. But if I buy two routes right now, the total price adds up to an entire full game! Just can’t justify buying each new DLC instantly with these prices, so hoping for good discounts ;)

Like TimTri this would usually have been a day 1 purchase for me, but given the close release dates between this and Niddertalbahn Ive opted to go for the latter. I'll wait for a sale before picking up the former.

Y'know, objectively it probably isn't a bad route- especially if they fix the brake and PIS bugs- but it could have been so very much better than it is. I think out of sheer disappointment I won't be getting it, unless it turns up someday at 80% off. Arguably the most scenic route in Germany, and they REALLY dropped the ball- it just looks.... ordinary. (Also, using the 110 on freight trains is criminal)

Whatever happened to the flair that made the Meißen branch in Riesa-Dresden so exemplary?

Even that branch has a known bug, so not so exemplary.
If you stop short of the marker, instead of completing the objective with an AP deduction, the objective does not unlock.

Yes, it does; but here I was talking about the scenery. It looks beautiful- which LRS should, but doesn't.

(That "bug" isn't one, it works the way it is supposed to in that DTG continues to use the infuriating "on-or-over" stop markers in some places-- they should be banned forever.)

I believe Meißen was made partly by TSG, so it’s no wonder it’s better.

I don't think so. It was made by 2 second party devs who has the free time. Not tsg

And those second party devs also work for TSG, werent they Lucas and Ed from the Niddertalbahn Preview Stream, they also mentioned working on the meißen branch there.

Well, Lukas has been made a full employee by dtg now so would have less time to help tsg with all their projects if they ever make future routes.
