Lost Map And Tile Files

I think I remember this being discussed before, but I can't seem to find the thread. After working in the editor for a while and then a successful save and shut down of the editor, I came back and the main map file is no longer visible in the content browser. The file is still visible in Windows explorer and shows the correct time of the last save, but UE editor content browser doesn't show it. Anyone come up with any ideas to solve this or a temporary work around?

This happened to me 3 times the map file was gone but the other file generated with it was still there

 

Go to File->Recent levels (or something like that) and you will find it there

 

Thanks. I'll try that if it happens again. I started a new route and it recovered my layers, so I didn't need to redo too much.

After some tinkering, the file disappears when it starts to grow in size.
For example, adding a couples of track pieces or having a lot of tiles.

I'm going to setup my next route as a plug-in as Matt suggested in the pinned post. Maybe that will solve the issue?

No. The issue is stil present even in a plugin directory

 

The plugin stuff is a kind of project folder, where you can bundle related content. I think (but not sure yet) this is the unit you in the end will distribute as a .pak file. If you have a look at the plugin folder, you see each DLC is a separate plugin.

 

This one doesn´t work for me. The file / map doesn´t show up in this list...
Backups doesn´t work aswell.

UPDATE (before i posted it yes, this is weird).
I just waited about 5-10mins with the editor running, restarted a few times before.
But somehow i am able to load the map when i use my latest backup now (which is the same file from yesterday). I´m so confused...

 

You can also go to editor install folder ..\TrainSimWorld4MOD\TS2Prototype\Plugins and locate your plugin, then drag the file(s) back into the editor.

 

Sorry I just had this issue and inadvertently started a new thread

 

I try and drag the main.umap file into the Content Browser from Windows Explorer and gets rejected with an unknown file type error.

I give up for now.

Got something back from the recent level but black sky (which I think was also there earlier).
