Hi all I was curious if anyone knew what this was all about. I’d seen something about train tilting on corner and was curious whether it may have been going too quick and then jammed the anchors on. Anyone have any inside knowledge? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-61136024
I don't but that BBC story is insanely dramatic, isn't it? "Safety system works exactly as it should, preventing disaster" isn't such a click winner I guess.
I live a few miles north of where it happened and haven't heard any thing official in local news or anything I also find the BBC very dramatic too.
Same here. I was trying to think if there are any curves where things could have got exciting as it’s fairly straight from hunts to PBO
The only thing I can think of is if it was diverted just north of Peterborough station across a 30 mph set of points onto platform one or two as that would explain the jolting but usually the lumo trains pass straight through platform 3 at about 100mph.
