Lzb, what trains and what routes actually support this. Is it just the ICE trains and routes currently?

It's only used on high-speed routes so only SKA and HMA, and the trains that support it are the DB BR 101, 406, 403, and 423. There may be more trains I'm forgetting and In real life more trains (such as the 185) have it but have not been updated to include it yet.

    Routes: SKA, HMA, RT
    Locos: ICE3, ICE3M, 101, 112, 423

Officially, the newer TRAXXs (146/185) and the 182s are supposed to have working LZB, but it’s broken for all of them to varying degrees. Skyhook’s 187 is supposed to have LZB as well, but we all know how that turned out.

The ones I listed after locos. It’s broken on all the other locos that have working LZB in-game according to DTG.

Thank you. I'll have to investigate. I've always turned Lzb on but was never sure it activated in the 101 etc

Easy way to check that are the indicator lights on the dash (where your PZB lights are). If you see a glowing, blue B indicator, LZB is active - the B stands for bereit, which translates to “ready” as in “LZB is ready to monitor you in an LZB section”.

This is the kind of info that should really be in a manual, but alas, we have no manuals!

Where it really hurts is on the 182, since that's the only one that can run at over 160.

There aren't any trainsets in the game with with a DB BR 182 would drive faster than 160km/h, unless you create fictional ÖBB Intercity/Eurocity runs in the Scenario Planner. It is still annoying not to have LZB within track sections that offer it, though.

    Cheers

Actually LZB isnt on all german routes because irl LZB is not spread on every track in germany. It is selected and the german routes in TSW that feature it have it set up mostly correct (except for RT but that route in general is a different topic). Also LZB is available and completely working without any bugs on the 403, 406, BR 101, BR 112, BR 423, both 182s. It also works on the 146.2 and the 185.2 from MSB but it doesnt show up on the MFDs there but its definitely functional there.

Also: LZB on doesnt mean its active. LZB is actively only on LZB-lead track sections.

I find the 182 LZB/AFB bugged when it comes to the end of LZB, I've got to disengage the AFB and turn it back on otherwise I get zero throttle. Not sure if it's working as intended but no other locos AFB acts the same way so I suspect it's a bug.

It works as intended because every loco has its own way how its AFB works at the end of an LZB zone.

Do you know that for a fact or just assuming? I'd take your word for it but the fact that on the HUD AFB is still set to a speed tells me something isn't right.

So the real ES64U2 (thats the original model name of the 182) is this:

    1. Acknowledge the upcoming end of an LZB section with PZB/LZB Frei
    2. Put throttle lever into "Nullstellung" (Notch 0)
    3. Bring the AFB-Lever into "Nullstellung" (Vsoll= 0 kmh) after LZB has ended to let the AFB acknowledge the end of LZB
    4. Put the AFB-lever back into the speed you want it to have.
    5. Use the throttle lever to regulate the power.

    Source: https://docplayer.org/59485066-Bedienungsanweisung-der-triebfahrzeugbaureihe.html

This is the official manufacturers handbook on the ES64U2, its german but publicly available.

So in real life you put the AFB lever into 0 AFTER the LZB influence ended and then put it back onto speed.

In general you dont need to de-activate and reactivate the AFB via the main switch irl like you have to do ingame.

That also works for DB BR406 on Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen. For the DB BR182 Rapid Transit only. in the Future HMA and Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen when sleeper coaches for the DB BR182 arrive while it gets a reskin or gets a pair of new pantographs the Quad voltage DB BR183 neu

This might be good for Sam’s training work which I believe he is looking at if it’s not already on his radar. I appreciate they may not want a full predators manual but nearly 1100 hrs in the sim and I didn’t know what had LZB. Goes to show we’ve all spotted different things. Same with the wagon brake levers. We need some advanced learning materials too

So it's not working correctly then, thank you for confirming.
