How do the magnetic brakes work on the DB628 please? Do they supplement the air brakes? Cheers everyone.

i have a Baureihe 642 manual in German from DB and it discusses use of magnetic brakes in detail, but without a key-bindng i would not be able to follow the instructions on PS5 where i use a bluetooth keyboard as my accessibility aid.
