Hey everyone, surly I am not the first to think of this idea - but I couldn't find any threads about this, so I though about just sharing it here. The Main-Spessart Route is one of my all time favorites in Train Sim World. Maybe it's because it was one of my first routs, but it just stuck with me with it's challanging drive, steep grades and tight turns - while also just beeing very scenic. I often coming back here and belive it deserves a remaster in it's own right, with ToD 4 Slightly updated scenery New and expanded timtable with proper shunting at Falkenberg But while thinking of the timetable, I realized that there is little room for upgrades with the route as it is. There are only Regional and freight trains running between Aschaffenburg and Gmünden - which is a shame because most of the route is also used by IC and ICE services travelling between Frankfurt and Würzbug making it ideal for a lot of mixed traffic. However, those train leave the Main-Spressart-Bahn right after Nantenbach to join the high speed line down to Würzburg. But then, I had an enlightenment: Dovetail could add the Würzburg to Nantenbach part of the High Speed Line "Kassel - Würzbug" as part of the remaster. After all, they already built that route. I know it's not as easy as hitting "copy - paste", but I would imagine it is also not impossible? Imagine: You speed up from Würzburg on the high speed line, then switching from LZB to PZB and wind up and down the steep mountain in the ICE between buisy freight and regional services to then terminate in Aschaffenburg. I think thats really neat! Adding the Nantenbach - Würzug Branch of the High Speed Track "Kassel - Würzburg" would open up the rout for varied ICE and IC services. A full service ICE service between Würzburg and Aschaffenburg would be fun, challanging and also completable in about 35 minutes The route is also equiped with GNT for tilting trains, making it perfect for owners of TSW 5 and the ICE-T! Now, I don't claim to understand the economics of Remasters, but in my mind the additional cost of adding the High Speed Line Branch could be offset by the sales for routes that include an ICE and/or an IC, either of which would be neccecary to take advantage of the additional branch. Thanks for considering!
