When freeroaming sometimes you get in a train at a depot, but it isnt possible to take a train out of a depot to go around exploring or simulate a dpot to depot move or a training train. if there is no active service in the way, why cant it be possible to get clearance to pass a red out on the line with an empty train? maybe to run empty to another depot or for training purposes? i used to drive the Stockholm underground green line in the 90s. no train simulators available. all training was done on real trains out on the line. in the beginning we just learned hos to drive and stop and signals. when stopping at stations we opened the doors away from the plattform to practice. later on we drove extra services off peak with passengers and towards the end of training we took over trains in peak times and the driver got to rest a bit. training took 6 weeks by the way. then we were out on our own. will never forget the first time taking an 8 car train out from the depot.... exiting stuff!
