Making Youtube Content: Copyright Restrictions?

    Greetings,

I'm hoping to get the attention of somebody from Dovetail Games here for an answer to some questions I have about what is allowed on YouTube and other video streaming services.

I've been making route learning videos around Scotland in Train Simulator Classic and now Train Sim World 4. Having downloaded the TSW4 soundtrack on Steam I experimented with using an audio track at the beginning of one of my TSW videos when working in Final Cut Pro and it worked pretty nicely, but I couldn't find information about permitted use so I opted for one of YouTube's royalty free options instead.

My question: if making non-monetised content about TSW is the use of the games music or portions of permitted?
I've also noticed some creators using game logos on thumbnails that I have restrained from doing on all but open source software: is this allowed?

...and finally for completeness would answers be different for creators monetising content?

    Many thanks,

    Hi there,

All the music in TSW4 and 3 is perfectly safe for use in any videos/streams :D

    Many thanks Benjamin,
Here’s one video I’ve use some in following you reply:
I used a different track in the other direction:

The shorter tracks make nice intros and should enhance many videos so thanks again!
