I have been unable to find any comments on managing saved games. Saved scenarios (or mods) I can delete, assuming I know the id string, but saves from within the game I have no idea how to delete. Any ideas?

When you save multiple games , the one you load back into is the one you saved last

I have never found any way in TSW2 to save more then 1 scenario at a time. The last save you do seems to over wright the previous one.

Yes, I believe that is correct -- and this is something I would dearly like DTG to change. After all, in TS it's possible to save each individual scenario for future resumption. Is there something in the TSW game engine that prevents this?

I've not verified, but I'm sure you can have a save per route?
So on switching to a different route, you could resume a save game from that particular routes menu.

No, this is not possible unfortunately.

    Cheers

I don't think so. I tried to resume a save in Hamburg-Lubeck recently and I found myself resuming a GWE save, which had overwritten it. I'm willing to be corrected, but that was my experience. You know, way back in MSTS (almost last century), you were able to make multiple saves in a scenario and then choose which one to resume. As pointed out, even in TS you can make multiple saves. We've come a long way in the last 20 years! :)

Given the vast number of services that cannot be completed after loading a save, I wouldn't even bother...

I just want to note that running TSW on a PC I frequently save, quit, and later recall the save and have never had a problem doing so.

Me neither, but from what I read on the forum, we are very much in the minority. I don't think anyone knows why it doesn't work for most players. Serendipity? Even though it may work, we're still limited to one save at a time, which is just slightly better than nothing.

For anyone who is like "I never use saves at all because it's totally broken" or "I have been using saves all the time and there's no problem at all", I believe there are generally two kinds of serious problems:

    1. Your timetable tasks will get messed up after loading a save. I found that this issue was exclusive to a "loco-hauled" passenger train as EMU services were fine. However it seems that this one is already fixed at some point before DB BR 101 was released and never happened to me since that.

    2. You will get a permanent red signal because AI trains are also stopped by red signals, thus blocking you. This one doesn't always happen and my example is about some specific eastbound S8 services in RRO. If you save at any point before a westbound service has left Hagen Hbf, both of you will be stuck by the signal outside of Hagen. This one is terrible and I don't think it is fixed as there are recent reports about this kind of issue in RT and HBK.

There are actually more problems but I belive these are the most serious ones. I'm glad that the first one seems to be fixed and I'm using saves regularly now.

Don't forget in Clinchfield on the very first scenario, if you resume a save once arriving at the mine, the AI does not move up to reposition that string of hoppers which prevent the progress of your play.
