Hello, and welcome to a new suggestion. This suggestion has been popping up a lot recently and as someone who has used the line quite a few times I would love to see it . This route will start at Manchester Piccadilly and along the congested Deansgate-castlefield line towards the chat moss line where it reaches a top speed of 90mph towards Liverpool. The route is 43 miles long and takes 1 hour 25 minutes for an all stopper and 40 minutes for a fast 802 service from manchester victoria to liverpool. Route map For this route it would only be the top half via newton-le-willows. The section of the Styal line after Piccadilly. Included Trains Class 331/0 'Civity' These will do most services on this route which usually involve stopping absolutely everywhere. Class 185 'desiro' These do fast services from manchester to liverpool and manchester airport to Victoria on this route. Class 802 'Nova 1' Now this is going to be controversial but I think that the 5 car LNER 801 could be kept but given a new interior and livery. With new physics as if it has more diesel engines. Layers Class 323 (from the glossop line) These do similar services to the 331 and should be a substitute to it. Class 158 You can do a very short service between manchester piccadilly and manchester oxford road Class 66 It shouldn't matter whether it is the DB, EWS or new DRS one. These usually do the drax services which run from near edge hill through to Manchester Victoria. Potential DLC Class 319/3 These trains are being scrapped soon (319375 is due to be scrapped this week). These currently do liverpool to blackpool and wigan services however just for the dlc they could substitute the 331 and 323 doing manchester airport to Liverpool etc. I've also seen them do weekend early morning and evening services stopping at most stations between Manchester Victoria and Liverpool. The 319s sound beautiful so hopefully the sounds are good. Also 319372 is still in ex-thameslink livery so hopefully that is a livery just like 395012 . Stations Liverpool Lime Street- this is already ingame and hasn't changed that much. Huyton- the last station before the Blackpool Line splits up Earlestown- A good ol' triangle station Manchester Victoria- very different to the version in ntp Manchester oxford road- A station which is way over capacity and sitting outside the station for a platform and becoming 5+ minutes late is common. Manchester Piccadilly- Already ingame, you'd only be using the heavily congested through platforms which are 13 and 14. Manchester Airport- Change here for manchester airport . Services Class 185- 1tph Liverpool Lime Street to Hull (Calling at Lea green and Manchester Victoria) Class 185- 1tph Manchester Airport to Saltburn (Calling at Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Oxford road and Manchester Victoria) Class 185- 1tph Liverpool Lime Street to Cleethorpes (Only from Manchester oxford road to Piccadilly ) Class 802- 1tph Liverpool Lime Street to Newcastle (Calling at Lea green, Newton le willows and Manchester Victoria) Class 802 (In disguise as a 397)- 1tp2h Manchester Airport to Edinburgh/glasgow (Calling at Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Oxford road) Class 331/323/319- 1tph Liverpool Lime Street to Manchester Airport (All stops) Class 331- 2tph Blackpool North to Manchester Airport (Calling at Deansgate, Manchester Oxford road, Manchester Piccadilly, Heald green and Manchester Airport) Class 331/323/319- 1tph Manchester Piccadilly to Crewe Via Manchester Airport (Calling at Mauldeth road, Burnage, East didsbury, Gatley, Heald green and Manchester Airport) Class 331/319- 1tph Liverpool Lime Street to Blackpool North (calling at only Huyton) Class 331/319- 2tph Liverpool Lime Street to Wigan North Western (Calling at Edge Hill, Wavertree technology park, Broad Green, Roby and Huyton) Class 331/319- Peak time only 1tph Manchester Victoria to Liverpool Lime Street (Calling at Newton le willows, Earlestown, St helens junction, Lea green, Rainhill, Whiston, Huyton, Roby, Broad Green, Wavertree technology park, Edge Hill and Liverpool) Class 331 (In disguise as a 195)- 1tph Leeds to Chester (Calling at Manchester Victoria, Newton le willows and Earlestown Class 331 (In disguise as a 195)- 1tph Manchester Airport to barrow-in-furness (Calling at Gatley, Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Oxford road and Deansgate) Class 158- 1tph Liverpool to Norwich (Only manchester Piccadilly to Oxford road ) Class 66- Does the Edge hill depot the Drax service which happens at selected points in the day. The 319 services could be in a seperate timetable like the 313 in ecw. As you can see this route has many services so players will never get bored when playing this! Licensing We already know dtg has the Northern license and tpe is now owned by the dft like northern so the licenses should be possible to get. Thanks for reading my suggestion . I do hope to see this come one day and I do have a slight feeling ats may be making this route
Awesome suggestion, like yourself I think that there is a chance that this will be the upcoming route being developed by Alan Thomson Simulation (ATS) and I think the rolling stock choice is bang on for the route and era suggested For anybody else wanting more information on this route, be sure to read my suggestion for this route as I provide details on the stations and Points of Interest along Chat Moss, which you may find interesting: My thread -> Route - Chat Moss: Liverpool To Manchester | Dovetail Games Forums
thanks ! And yeah I do bet this route is going to come to tsw at some point with a big chance of ats making it
An ATS TSC route heavily requested into TSW 4. For a Hudless run PTG Rail made one use this as a guide for TSW 4 version
Very good suggestion! Would love to see this! Hopefully ATS or another company blow my socks of a FINALLY make this one day!
Agreed ! ATS did a good job on the 185 in tsc . If this does come I do hope it comes with the Joe Dobson announcements
