So doing the freight jobs. Is it just me or are there some really short trains i have had two 7 wagon trains and 4 light loco runs but description says freight service not light loco run.

 

It is still a freight service since it is using a freight loco

 

That's like saying a passenger loco is running a passenger service even without any coaches attached.

Light loco movements are just that, regardless of what the loco is used for.

 

Do you play this route a lot. Seems to me there are few strange jobs on this route.

 

Light loco movements in the UK in reality should be running with a headcode starting with 0 (Zero) and not 4, 6 or 7. Even running light engine, they are still limited to the max speed for freight.
RHTT trains should use a headcode starting with a 3 meaning specially monitored train.

 

WCML seems to have some very short freight trains as well. Maybe an optimisation thing
