Today I would like to suggest the former Manchester Oxford Road to Altrincham 1500v DC route. This would likely be best represented in 1970 around the time of the winding down of DC services. The route looks like... The usual type in service was the BR Class 505 (although these numbers were never worn).
As a side note, the electrification system used was the same as the nearby Woodhead Route and at one point the line reached London Road (Picadilly) before it was cut back. With that said, the two lines never shared/swapped stock with both being effectively isolated from each other. Woodhead stock was serviced at Reddish with stock for this line serviced at Altrincham.
