Hey guys. I'm back with another core suggestion. Mappable controls is something I've wanted to see come to the game for a very long time. I personally dislike immersion controls due to its lack of functionality in some areas. I use classic controls, but there are things from the Immersion controls that I want on the classic controls. This is where mappable controls would come in. Users would be able to go into the control settings and be asked if they want to change the controls on their controller. You would then be asked if you want to have a base layout, or start from scratch. For example, lets say I select 'Base layout'. It will then give me the option to start with rather classic or immersion controls. I then select immersion controls and that will be my base template before modifying it. If I choose start from scratch, I have to assign a function to every button. Once you select a base template or start from scratch, you are then able to select which button you want to change, and it will give you a list of what functionality you want this button to do. For example, lets say I want to change the horn from the right stick to D-pad up. I would select D-pad up and then change its functionality to horn. Now what if you have multiple buttons that have the same functionality? You would get a notification saying that one function is used on multiple buttons. It will not let you save the controls until every button has a different function. I think being able to change the controls to your heart's content would be a small but impactful improvement for console players. I would love to see this get added in a future core update.
