Does anyone know if they are working on adding this "Classic" route to Train sim world. I grew up with the original MSTS from 2001 with this route and they added it to train simulator 2022.
Well Marias Pass or Donner Pass I think will be coming very soon. There is a pattern of popular routes coming over from TSC, not that they can convert them.
Due to there length and complexity, I find it very unlikely that either Marias Pass or Donna Pass will come to Tsw any time soon.
You can always put it in the Suggestions forum but as noted this route is a bit on the long side for what DTG normally do. If TSW is still about in 2031(hopefully) they will do a 30 year MSTS celebration and include Maria’s Pass in that.
I'm predicting a US freight route by December this year. I could be wrong though. Cajon Pass was a coupe.
I don't see it due to it being the 3rd of 4 routes set in Southern California if the rumored next route is indeed Antelope Valley.
It wouldn't be the first time we've had several routes in short succession that are from roughly the same region, all the uk routes in Southeast England and more recently the Midlands for example.
What are the last two routes in the US that has come out? Passenger. So every 2 or 3 routes we will get a freight route.
I'm sorry if my reply felt like i'm hijacking this thread, but i hope the next North American Freight Route could be CPKC's Kicking Horse Pass, i don't know if DTG got license for CP/KCS/CPKC. Now if the next NA Freight Route going to be Kicking Horse Pass, i definitely purchase TSW4 solely to drive a train on that route.
I think that the first US route on the roadmap will be a freight route for sure, what it is is anyone's best guess haha. The second US route is likely another passenger route.
I'm gonna be honest here, I really don't think we're getting Marias Pass any time soon, I absolutely believe that one of the two new USA routes on the roadmap is a freight route but not Marias.
I would agree with that also, I think they are gonna hit Southern California really hard for a while and then move on to something else, probably back to the east coast. So I think Tehachapi or something totally out of left field that nobody will see coming.
I would love to see Marias Pass in TSW. It was one of my favourite routes in MSTS. However, if you want to make it justice I think you need to include the "whole" stretch from Whitefish to Cutbank and at over 125 miles that is just too long (forget about the original 152 mile stretch from Whitefish to Shelby including the Kalispel branch) to be a realistic DLC in TSW at this point in time. That is my personal opinion based on what has been released so far. We've definitely seen longer and longer routes being made in the last two editions of TSW though, so I wouldn't say it is impossible in the future, but I don't think it is very likely.
I hope they do the 152 miles stretch. I really hope. Sometimes if they can't finish it they will release it then release the extension later.
Would be epic if the route have it's full length of 152 miles, but to be honest with the current state of save & resume game, who gonna be run the full length in 1 sitting only. XD
Well I have a hunch. Donner or Marias. Stevens Pass may be on the cards later. Maybe 2027. Maybe earlier. But this next 24 months.....as above, Donner and Marias. Maybe another freight route out of left field... that we have no idea about. I really hope Chicago to Byron is done so they can satisfy both freight and passenger fans. It runs on the CN or Canadian Pacific IC&E track and Metras run to Pinegree Grove just west of Elgin. I think there was talk of getting some services to Genoa or Hampshire/both. Maybe someone here lives in Illinois. It is single track so it would absolutely satisfy some criteria for sure!
I think a lot of people would love to see something in Chicago. DTG historically has not had Metra licensing (certainly could have changed because look at Metrolink). Unless they get a Metra license I don't foresee any Chicago based routes. Hopefully they can get the license because now with Los Angeles in the game and the NYT update making that the route it should be, Chicago is the last of the biggest 3 metropolitan areas in the US that is not in the game.
Is that some sort of Newton's Law that wasn't taught in my school ? JK. We're all entitled to speculate so no harm there
No I just think they balance things. And Matt seems very pro freight so I guess he is always trying to get something in there.
The PC editor will be released soon, can everyone get to work? Don't really make me wait until 2027 for the US cargo lanes we're talking about today. If you have to wait for DTG to announce the 100-mile U.S. cargo route, with luck, it will be announced in August next year.
