I was playing a scenario today and received the instruction "marshall the cars" on a certain track. What does this mean? Thanks for the help. George
Pretty much pick up all the cars in the list in any order, shame it isn't used much (At least in NA scenerios.)
In English it means to arrange (a group of people, such as soldiers) in an orderly way, e.g., marshalling troops/forces, etc. In the UK we had hundreds of Marshalling Yards dotted around Britain many decades ago for the arrival of mixed freight trains and then the wagons were shunted about and arranged into specific consists for onwards movement. Cheerz. Steve.
Simply said, it let's you think about how to accomplish the task. Some of the too few marshalling scenarios can be quite a puzzle. Instead of giving you loads of Couple and Uncouple instructions, you decide how to do it. Note that there might be a certain order the cars must be arranged, the scenario should tell you in a message box.
