Ahoy there. Forgive me if I’ve missed something, but is anyone else having problems with Mastery? I’ve been beavering away with the Blackpool Branches mastery tasks for a few weeks now and on checking progress today, it’s completely reset itself. I was only a few miles off completing tier two and now it’s gone right back to the start and locked both tiers off. On looking again, it’s now showing both Tiers complete but Tier One has incomplete tasks. Is it just botched?
There is very much a mystery surrounding mastery, that being how on earth in works so inconsistently without any seeming pattern or reason for it not working. Some routes it don't work at all, sometimes tier one completes but not tier two, others both say completed but the tier two reward doesn't show up. The one I am most intrigued by is the supposed fighter jets at Newark on ECML, and although I have completed the 'challenges, I can't get tier 2 to complete itself.
Sure I've had some Stage One show as complete when only half the achievements have been completed, with Stage Two opened up. TBH it's not something I really go after, more of a gimmick but if it's in the game should work correctly and consistently.
I also don't know how the Mastery Challenges work, but what I have noticed is that the real actual and current status is only displayed if you have freshly loaded the game. If you have completed a train service, the data is somehow mixed up and no longer up to date. To display the real current status again, I have to completely restart the game from the desktop. But as I said, I don't really know how exactly the Mastery Challenges work and if that is working for you.
It's extremely broken in my experience. Sometimes it works, but often it doesn't. The fix to get it to properly track progress is: 1. Go into Settings and log out of Dovetail Live. 2. Quit and relaunch the game. 3. Log in to DTL. This should work at least temporarily. By following the above method I finally unlocked CCL, BPO, BML, and NEC mastery rewards. But certain routes just seem to be broken; for example I haven't had any luck getting tier 2 to unlock on MML. As for it not showing progress, you sometimes have to exit out of mastery and go back in quite a few times for it to show your progress.
Does anyone know how to fix this I didn't know where to put this but if anyone knows how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.
