Helloooooo and welcome to another suggestion!! Today I will be suggesting the Wirral line which connects the towns/cities in the Wirral Peninsula to Liverpool via the Mersey Railway tunnels. I believe this is the only 3rd rail line in the north (except the northern line of course). This railway is operated by Merseyrail which has the lowest amount of cancellations than any uk toc at only 1% . Line length- 33 Miles Top speed- 70mph (achieved between Hooton and Bache) Electrification- 750v DC 3rd rail Services All services go via the Mersey Railway tunnel loop via Liverpool Central Clockwise. Chester to Chester (via Liverpool Central)- Every 15 minutes West Kirby to West Kirby (via Liverpool Central)- Every 15 minutes New Brighton to New Brighton (via Liverpool Central)- Every 15 minutes Ellesmere port to Ellesmere port (via Liverpool Central)- Every 30 minutes Green lane on the Ellesmere port and Chester services is usually skipped. A lot of services on this route The busiest section on this route will be inside the Mersey Tunnels when all the services join up and there are trains every few minutes. The trains The trains will Included the Class 507 and Class 508 peps which are almost identical to Class 313 which is already ingame. The differences between the 507 and 508 are very subtle and on services the 507 and 508 should substitute each other. Potential loco addon The class 777 could be a loco addon on this route. The 777 is the new Merseyrail train which is slowly replacing all the Peps on the Merseyrail Network and has just started testing on the Wirral line. The depot The depot on this route is Birkenhead North TMD which currently stores all the 508s and 507s operated on the Wirral line and soon the 777s. It also stores some TFW 230s. Major Stations Liverpool Lime Street (Low Level) Birkenhead Central West Kirby Chester Final thoughts The wirral line will be very enjoyable with the many services available and the amount of branches. Like Blackpool to ormskirk (Part of the merseyrail is in that route ) this will be like a network and not just a standard A to B route. Also you'd have to watch the signals when you reach the mersey tunnels due to the high amounts of trains in that section (it's also a single line after james street! though it's one way) there's 26 trains per hour on that section! That's almost as busy (if not busier) as the london core. A very good commuter route for tsw with many services and I doubt anyone will get bored thrashing the PEPs along the wirral.
It is an ok route expect the fact that i am 99.8 % sure that dtg will not create it in tsw, not being blunt, just realistic
Even though it's 3rd rail I wouldn't mind this. Plus I’d rather have another PEP than another Electrostar tbh
Not a fan of metro trains up north I find the one especially in newcastle REVOLTING, an eye sore to say the least, but I wouldn't mind the Merseyrail as the PEP's are nice and so are the new 777's.
I do agree with that, the metrocars have little to no traction motor sounds too, unlike the peps and 777s
I kinda like this suggestion for Liverpool to come to TSW 4, we have had liverpool in Tsw 3 on the steam railway but we need more Liverpool routes, I definitely agree with this suggestion
Good suggestion. Considering how DTG are starting to make network routes, this could open up many opportunities (including a chance of getting the Wirral Line). Would also be nice to see Chester in the game as well as that could lead to future routes for Wales, and elsewhere in the Northwest of England
in my opinion, the northern line will be more suitable, as, it has never been seen before in any game (as far as i am aware). The wirral line is in roblox and is in development for train sim classic so its quite boring as a concept for tsw. The northern line will be so much better (not my local or anything). But i am a bit biased.
