Featuring Chicagos iconic union station, this route will show some of Chicagos most desired neighbourhoods. With a running time of as little as 57 minutes between Chicago Union Station and Aurora, this route also features Amtraks presence between Union and Naperville Timetable This is an hourly service between Aurora and Chicago Union with 26 potential stopping stations depending on operational schedule patterns between commuter/semi-express services. For Amtrak: P42DC (Finally!) or ALC-42 Charger For BNSF: ET44C4, ES44AC, ES44DC, or C44-9W for heavy freight services; GP60/GP60M-3, GP38-2, GP50/GP25 rebuild, or GP39-3 (rebuilt ex-BN GP30s/GP35s) for local/switching services
Thank you for adding this! Still getting used to my us loco hauls and I dont get to travel on this line regularly to keep up. The Amtrak charger would be amazing considering that will soon (enough) be the future fleet!
Another Metra suggestion! Great minds think alike I see! Check out the suggestion I just made for the Metra Electric District w/ NICTD South Shore Line (the last of the interurbans) and layering of CN GP38s from Oakville for the CN Chicago Subdivision. Honestly our greatest barrier is probably Metra licensing.
