During the Antelope Valley live stream, one issue that caught my attention sound-wise was this loud and annoying hissing sound, which sounded between around 15 seconds. Since it sounds like something related to the air brakes but could be heard all the time despite of what the train was doing, I wonder if that is prototypical or a bug.

    It's prototypical.
The real F125's hiss all the time as well, not sure if it's quite THAT often though.

Prototypical at least for idling. Don't know how realistic it is while driving though

This is the sound of the air reservoir pressure relief valve.

I thought it is a bug as well, but checking out some railfanning videos of them, they do seem to make the same noise in most of the clips.

Based on the videos I watched, it appears that the sound is correct after all. Good attention to detail from DTG:s part. It would be interesting to know why other American locos don't make this noice.

Yes, as noted above already, the air hissing is correct. It seems to do it way more than the F59 locos ever did. What's not correct is how incredibly loud the bell is inside the cab. It is not this loud sitting in the cab. Appears to have been recorded from outside instead of inside, along with the horn. Not sure why they didn't record those from in the cab.

Matt had the windows open for most of the stream so that was probably making everything sound more pronounced.

That's true. Didn't think of that. In another thread in here he said he's gonna see about the bell volume. Now I hope it doesn't get too quiet. Lol. It wouldn't be an issue if we had the ability to edit the sound files.

I was told by another beta tester that the bell is placed right below the cab, compared to on the opposite end of the locomotive as is the case on many other locos.

Yes, it is. I'm quite familiar. ;) Lol. The point I was making is it isn't this loud when sitting in the cab. It would be a little quieter and more muffled sounding because you're inside and not outside right next to it. Unless Matt was running the train with the window open the whole stream.
