I’d love to suggest the Orange County Line as a future Metrolink route DLC in Train Sim World. It would bring a strong commuter rail experience to the game while opening up one of the most active and layered corridors in Southern California. Route Coverage: LA Union Station to Oceanside, with key stops at Fullerton, Anaheim ARTIC, Santa Ana, Irvine, and more. This route is scenic, varied, and full of operational depth. Layered Services to Enrich Gameplay at Oceanside: Orange County Line (core service) – Standard Metrolink runs from LA to Oceanside Inland Empire–Orange County Line – Layered AI or playable services from San Bernardino via Fullerton to Oceanside Amtrak Pacific Surfliner – Layered or DLC intercity express runs using shared trackage NCTD COASTER – Potential layered services between Oceanside and San Diego if licensing can be revisited Why This Would Be a Great Fit: Realistic operational diversity with commuter, regional, and intercity traffic High replay value due to express vs. local service patterns Existing LA scenery and stock (F125s, F59PHRs, MP36PH3c Desiels, Bombardier coaches new and older) could be reused and enhanced Timetable density at Oceanside could make it the busiest passenger terminal in a US TSW route to date Additional Immersion Ideas: Iconic stations like Anaheim ARTIC, with unique platform assignments Surfliner AI layering or playable DLC (Chargers, Superliners, F59PHI or P42DC) Realistic scheduling that replicates overtakes, delays, and terminal dwell times This route would be a perfect showcase for layered American commuter rail systems and could become a flagship Metrolink experience in Train Sim World. Thank you.
I thoroughly enjoy both AVL and SBL, so I wont mind another Metrolink route... how long is it (+ how long does a run take)? and I guess max speeds are 79 mph
This thread goes into the same route into alot more detail on route map and length https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...nks-orange-county-line-la-to-oceanside.72706/
Oh snap I didn't see this,, this actually looks way better than mines lol very detailed oriented than mines
We also need BNSF stuff on this route. The southern transcon(same line as Cajon Pass)is partially on this route, as well as the freights that come in and out of San Diego. Also the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner trains.
