Hello everyone, its been a while but I'm back at it with another great suggestion. I suggest that the Metrolink Ventura County Line be added to Train Sim World, in my opinion this would be an awesome route to add for a variety of reasons. The Metrolink Ventura County Line is a commuter rail line serving Ventura County and the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County and the City of Los Angeles, in the Southern California system. The line is the successor of the short lived CalTrain commuter rail line. As of October 23, 2023, the Ventura County Line is served by 20 Metrolink trains (ten in each direction) each weekday, running primarily at peak hours in the peak direction of travel. However, of those trains, only six trains (three in each direction) travel the entire length of the line between Los Angeles and Ventura–East station. Sixteen trains (eight in each direction) short turn, traveling only between Los Angeles and Moorpark station, while 20 trains (ten in each direction) travel between Los Angeles and Chatsworth station. Two round trips operate on weekends over the entire length of the line. Metrolink passengers (except those at Ventura–East station) also have access to four Pacific Surfliner trains (two in each direction) each day through a codeshare agreement. The line operates between Moorpark and Los Angeles Union Station on tracks owned by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority – the Ventura Subdivision from Moorpark to Burbank Airport and the Valley Subdivision, the Valley Subdivision from Burbank to Glendale, becoming the River Subdivision into Los Angeles Union Station. It uses the Coast Line of the Union Pacific Railroad between Moorpark and Oxnard and into Ventura where the Santa Paula Branch splits from the rest of the Coast Line. Ventura–East station and layover facility are on the Santa Paula Branch Line. Here's a list of locomotives and rolling stock that should be included, most of which can be recycled from both the Antelope Valley and San Bernadino lines. The F59PHR would be a great locomotive to include, plus DTG announced that this engine is coming to TSW, so this would be the perfect engine to come with the route. Amtrak P42DC. This an engine that needs to be added to TSW because having some more Amtrak motive power on the game would be great. These engines are used on the Coast Starlight which operates along the line down to Seattle. https://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=629982 The Amtrak P32-8BWH. This is also another great Amtrak locomotive to include as it also sees usage on the Coast Starlight as well as shunting power. https://www.railpictures.net/photo/21647/ https://trains-and-locomotives.fandom.com/wiki/GE_P32-8BWH?file=P32-8BWH_Cab_View.jpg For rolling stock, most of this should be easy since all of the Metrolink rolling stock can be recycled from either the San Bernardino Line or the Antelope Valley Line. For Amtrak rolling stock, the following should be included. The viewliner baggage cars. Superliner cars. Every superliner car should be included, transition sleeper cars, sleeper cars, diner cars, sightseer lounge cars, coach baggage cars, and coach cars. There are 2 types of superliner cars, there's the Superliner I variants which were constructed from 1975 to 1981 and then there are the superliner 2 cars which were constructed between 1991 and 1996. Both variants look the same but there's one way to tell both cars apart, that key fact being the bogies on the wheels. Superliner I cars have Waggon Union MD-76 bogies while Superliner 2 cars have GSI-G70 bogies If there was to be a seperate DLC add-on, here's what would be great in my opinion. In my opinion the ALC-42, SC-44's, and Pacific Surfliner equipment would be awesome as a seperate add-on. The ALC-42 The SC-44 Charger in Pacific Surfliner livery Then we have the Pacific Surfliner rolling stock. Cab interior of a Pacific Surfliner Cab Car. Before I conclude, here are my reasons why this would be a great route to add to Train Sim World. 1. Since most American content on the game is Metrolink stuff, why not add another Metrolink route. 2. This could be a great opportunity to also add more Amtrak content to TSW. 3. Licensing won't be a big issue since they have both the Metrolink and Amtrak license. 4. As for route reference, the Los Angeles to Burbank section won't be a problem since it already exists on the Antelope Valley line. 5. There is also local freight traffic on this route which is operated by Union Pacific. So hopefully some freight train operations will be included in timetable scenarios. Freight content can mostly just be recycled from Sherman Hill and Cane Creek. 6. Since most American content on TSW is focusing on passenger stuff, this would be a great add-on since there's mainly passenger trains on this route. Anyways that's all I need to say, thanks. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ventura_County_Line
