I'm thinking on getting the Metropolitan Line Aldgate - Uxbridge - Amersham as it is 71% off
I don't have either the S7+1 or the S8 but I will swap the trains to C69 & D77 stock.
I'm basically after the route for its assets for the Virtual District Line

My question is does installing this affect any other JT Routes?
I have an number of JT Routes including the Chiltern Mainline and I read in the past problems with JT's Common Library.

    Thanks

    Peter

I haven’t had any problems. Best route in TSC imo, and the sale price is an absolute steal. I paid full price and it was worth it.

I've only got the version from the jt site, but it doesn't have any effects on other jt routes.

It´s one of my all time favourites in TSC... at that discount it´s a no-brainer!

It’s not a bad route but it is very resource intensive. Have had issues when running of CTD’s or a save game loading straight to CTD which is fairly uncommon with any other route. I also found the implementation of speed/approach signalling rather severe, sure the real tube doesn’t crawl at 5 MPH for 400 yards to release the signal ahead.

However if you’re using the C69 etc. stock that might not be so much of an issue.

Unfortunately can’t say whether the route adversely affects the other JT Chiltern routes as I never got round to buying before they pulled from Steam.

My biggest gripe with JT and this route was the need to buy the stock separately, but on sale or in a bundle not so bad.

The Chiltern route is not the best from what I´ve read in the past.

Screenshot_Just Trains - Metropolitan Line_51.57102--0.29242_10-33-38.jpg I decided to get the route.
The signalling is a pain where you don't get a distant between a Green and the next Red
Did a quick drive to see how it was

I had to switch off SPADs to run the route, just got too bothersome in the end.

Some signals are approach controlled, as mentioned in the manual. Never had troubles on ML with a bit of route knowledge that a real driver needs too.

Edit: Of course I was having trouble too in the beginning :)

Going from Aldgate is easy... approach control Bakerstreet and Moorgate. That´s it. But coming in to Baker Street from Finchley Road is a nightmare. I need to print out all the approaches to get through.

The signalling is fairly comples and pretty accurate - These are the types that I found:
Signal Types in the JT Metropolitan Line
    Multi-home signalling
    Multi-aspect signalling
    X signals
    Approach-controlled signals
    Draw-up signals
    Repeater and fog repeater signals
    Shunt signals

    X signals
These signals can be identified when an ‘X’ is inserted into the identification plate, such as JBX790.
This type of signal operates like any other automatic running signal and clears with the passage of the train ahead. They must be treated as a controlled signal by a driver, however, and under failure conditions permission to pass the signal at danger must be received from the signaller prior to moving forward. They will therefore be the last automatic signal prior to a controlled area.

I have various guides for several scenarios in .docx and pdf format if you want tthem I can email them. There are tons of guides on the web and well worth searching for - example of my guides

Very useful. Think it’s MB100 that catches me out.

    Thank you Peter :)
I'm used to mainline signalling and some of these caught me out.
