While I think the issues that Midland Mainline has need sorting before anything else is thrown into the mix, a few loco DLC suggestions can’t hurt . Suggestion 1: Class 222 Introduced in the early 2000s, the class 222 is was and still is the stalwart of the Midland Mainline. This is has already been suggested a plethora of times, so I won’t go into heaps of detail. The class 222 would feature in East Midlands Trains’ striking colours and would run express passenger services in a similar vein to the HST that is included in the route. This would offer a good opportunity to expand the timetable and add a bit more life to the route. The DLC would be the standard loco DLC price of £15 and would also include 4-5 scenarios, given the somewhat limited amount of services that could be added. Suggestion 2: Class 156 The class 156 is a member of the sprinter family, alongside the 158 that comes with the base route. The 156 would operate local services alongside the class 158, sometimes working in multiple with each other. This would sub onto all of the class 158’s services and also come with 4-5 scenarios at the standard price of £15 Suggestion 3: Class 43 with buffers This one is pretty self explanatory. The buffered power cars operated the 2+6 sets that are included in the timetable already. This one would be a quick remodel & re-livery of the front end of the GWE HST. Whack in 2-3 scenarios and put it out for £5 (the same price as stuff like the ROG 37) and I reckon this one would make a bit of cash
Suggestion 4: East Midlands Heavy Freight (Class 60, Class 66, Class 08) This would be a pretty big expansion coming with 3 locos (one brand new). The class 60 would come in DB cargo livery and DC Rail livery (subject to licensing). The 66 and 08 would come in EWS livery. The DC Rail 60 would come with a re-hashed JNA in VTG blue livery, operating services out of Chaddesden sidings (Derby) and Humberstone Road sidings (Leicester), as they do in real life. The DB side of things would include modelling Toton Depot, and also a new wagon (and a re-hashed BBA from Tees Valley). The DB 60s would operate mostly steel trains using the BBAs, also running a small number of coal trains using the new HTA coal wagon However, most of the coal services would be operated by the class 66 (included in the pack) making use of the loop at Ratcliffe power station. Some services would also use wagons from other routes as layers. The 08 in EWS livery would be used on shunting duties at Toton. This would finally give us a modern era shunting loco in game, which would work as a layer on many other routes. This DLC would cost £15
Brilliant suggestions mate but the prices are a bit steep. £15 for the dlcs and the freight pack would be more reasonable and a fiver for the buffered HST seems fair enough.
My bad, I had remembered the prices wrong. For some reason in my brain I had remembered the prices as going from £15 to £20, when they actually went from £12 to £15. Updated now!
Bring it on and for the Class 60 it needs a 1989 Alt Paint scheme that way it can layer to TVL. If one has MML Class 60 with BCC Class 60 will go up lickey incline unassisted since it trades Horsepower for Tractive effort.
because 158s are better and allow for regional stopping services which if we got the HST and 222 instead of the 158 you wouldn't get but I agree we do need a 222
IMO emr setting would of been better then a emt setting. We'd have the 158 in emr (including another trainbow), a 170 in emr, a 222 and 180 which adds more variety then just the very iffy hst and 158. And for freight.... we really just in general needs more freight operators in general, like EWS 66's are not that interesting, if we could say get the freightliner pride 66 that'd be amazing.
You could still have had 222s in EMT days, plus 156s and 153s - and EMT livery is much nicer than EMR
MML livestream. They were talking about the route and it was mentioned that the yards and power plant were tracklaid but not included as yet, because one the route is baked, it is incredibly difficult to add more track to it. The way it was phrases basically said "if it's not there on release, don't ever expect to see it"
