One thing I've started to enjoy recently inspired from watching some of Matt's recent Let's Play, is driving with the majority of the HUD removed (everything except the top left banner removed). It's definitely added a new and different challenge to my playing experience. However, I strongly dislike that banner in the top left and how invasive it is. There's also some things that sometimes keep me from running hud-less. I find many gauges and screens are hard to read - usually because anti-aliasing makes them blurry (which seems to have gotten worse in 4.26, or I just never really noticed before). So anyway, it got me thinking that TSW really needs a minimalist HUD option, something that scales down the HUD to make it less invasive. Basically my thought is to completely consolidate all the information into one corner of the the screen and ONLY provides the absolute most important information (current speed, brake & power gauges, time & destination info) - basically things you'd frequently check. This could also serve as a great transition for people wanting to make the jump from full HUD to no HUD. Of course this is just a 30 minute mock-up and there might be other bits of information deemed "crucial" but the idea is to remove the game style HUD, consolidate and simplify it to maximize the in-game experience.
