[mod Download] [al] Alex's Service Mode Replacements, Repaints And Enhancements Mods

Because the number of my mods for TSW2 has grown unmanageable, I will try to give an overview of not only published, but also unpublished projects. Almost all mods were published in rail-sim.de's filebase and on TrainSimCommunity. Excluded are the two Mini Substitution mods, which are exclusively maintained on TrainSimCommunity. Additionally I want to inform about news and changes concerning my mods.

Substitution Mods
A larger part of my repertoire consists of substitution mods. These allow the use of different vehicles in Service Mode, alongside the normal rolling stock or completely replaced.

Repaints
I started modding with creating repaints. Since there was no livery designer available in the "old" TSW, the textures of a vehicle had to be edited and replaced. Due to the memory-friendly design, mirrored lettering could not be avoided. With TSW2 I also tried my luck with the Livery Designer, but after finishing two designs I didn't use it anymore.

Great stuff. Running a 166 on TVL now. It works out much better in service mode than scenario planner. Could I suggest or request, Class 20s on LMC freight and Class 31s on LMC passenger runs?

 

So how does the SKA change work with the 423s? The V2 livery of that doesn't have mirroring or it's still there, just "masked"? And does it change the textures of it on the HMA ones as well? If so, would there maybe be an option to use the originally painted 423s from HMA (let's say they've been moved too recently )

 

Rob39 I could take a look at it, but it would probably be better with substitution. That's something I don't really know how it works.

Monder The V2 livery just overwrites the texture which is included in the main pak of the mod. The most notable difference between these two textures are the missing class decals. And yes, with this mod activated all 423 on HMA have this livery.

Thanks I discovered that 423 replacement for SKA yesterday and tried it out today. It enables me to drive the S-Bahn path with RailDriver support now!

Oh ok. Would it be possible to separate the liveries from the substitution? (Of course only if it's an easy task, no need to spend hours on it for one player ) I feel like it might be less problematic to have a München on the sides here than vice versa with an extra mirroring braking immersion more.

 

Well, the second version already is reduced so only a tiny thing is mirrored, so I don't think it's necessary.

Is Muff's formation editor publicly available? I am interested in swapping some freight consists out for ones that are more realistic (DTG, due to their linear development I presume, have updated some freight consists but not others).

EDIT: Also, does anyone know how to "mention" users?

 

cwf.green Yes, it is! It's designed for Scenario Planner scenarios, but it sometimes also works for Service Mode. For Service Mode replacements you have to consider factors like same number of cars or the overall length of the formation. To find out what the normal formations consist of I'm using FModel, additionally I sometimes have to edit the timetable if cars are flipped the wrong way. That's only possible with hexediting.

 

The ECW railtour with top n tail 66. Could that be a 2+8 or 2+7 HST? Its a 2-66 plus 8 coach formation.

Alexander L. I noticed that the weights of the IC wagons have been altered in the timetable services for HMA (to more realistic weights). Is this randomly done by TSW or did you modify the weights and if so how?

cwf.green That's probably done by TSW. FModel lets me inspect almost all TSW files. I can see how formations are set up, which formations are used in the timetable and where the value I have to hexedit if cars are flipped the wrong way is located. A few things wouldn't be possible without it.

I have updated the Class 43's archive to include the FGW version, too!

 

New mod: DB Baureihe 425 on the Main-Spessart-Bahn! I have also flipped the loco-hauled formations to reflect how services were formed a few years ago.

 

You ever thought about the 101/155 or even the 182 on SKA?

 

There are Moments when it sucks to be a Console gamer. The mods for Ruhr Sieg Nord and Main-Spessart Bahn look really interesting.

Hopefully Adam will see this thread.

 

Bigger amount of 465 services on SEHS would be nice.

Two mods are already converted, namely the DB BR 423 - Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen and BR Class 166 - Northern Trans-Pennine/Tees Valley Line mods. The others are currently halted because the timetables files need to be edited which is currently not possible.

I would like to have a TSW2 mod, which replaces MSB 146.2 locos with BRD 146.2 (Yes, I know that you can use BRD 146.2 on other routes too.) AI operated trains have still MSB versions of 146.2, and also if you take a service, which is driven from cab car. That's why I'm suggesting this mod. And the same thing for 143.

Really excellent idea and for Riesa-Dresden DB BR146.2 it needs RE1 Aachen Hbf Hamm Westfalen HRR and Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen to be used there. DB BR155 & 204 needs Deutsche Reichsbahn DDR skins.

 

Very cool mod, just the 112 should not be used on freight at all. It is not a freight loco.

As for the DB BR 101 IC substitutions, I may have some news to announce soon! Those, that follow the tsw-modding channel on the TSC discord may already know what I'm alluding to.

 

Substitution is really the way to go.
It’s what I want out of the scenario planner.
Being able to work within an existing timetable without having to create a new one.

It went a bit silent in here, didn't it? In the meantime I didn't stay idle. Instead, I made a few couple mods which I only uploaded to the TSC Discord, but didn't publish as they were not worth their own download entries. However, due to the nature of Discord, they get lost in time and are sometimes hard to find again. Now, I have uploaded those mods to TSC in two collective entries. Additionally: With the Meißen branch update for Dresden-Riesa the majority of my Freight Substitution Pack got obsolete. If you still have it installed, you should delete it to avoid compatibility issues. Only the DB BR 204 mod isn't obsolete and should work still.

 

Is it possible to create a mod that swaps the locomotive + wagon trains on the S1 to 3-car BR442? Please, this wourld be really nice and provides variety on the S1 when a replacement train is on the way

 

Not to speak for the OP, but from what I know the replacement formation needs to have the same number of "parts" (locos, cars). So if you were to replace 146.2+4 Dostos, you could only replace them with 5-car Talent 2 which we don't have. The 3-car one could substitute for the Rush Hour sets with 143 and 2 Dostos, but that's only like 20 services.

 

I only mean the 143/112 + 2 Dosto Service on the S1, not on other lines.

 

Update time! I have uploaded an update, but also a new release!
The update is for the DB BR 101 - Hauptstrecke München - Augsburg mod. Now you can run a 6-car IC between Munich and Augsburg again, but you don't have to miss the normally scheduled ICEs!

The new release is the DB BR 101 - Schnellfahrstrecke Köln - Aachen Mod! Here you can drive a 7-car IC between Cologne and Aachen, but as with the other mod you don't have to do without the normally scheduled ICEs!

I may post this suggestion too early, because BR 420 hasn’t come out yet, but BR 420 substitution for SKA is something that i would really like. If there’s no S12 available, 423 and 420 would share the S19 line.
