As you already know and im sure a lot of you already tried that Creators club (library full of scenarios and livery creations). But once you download something im sure you were trying to find a way how to keep it forever (as autor can delete that stuff from Creators club and it will be removed from your subscribtion too) or even edit it. Well now i got solution for you, at least for scenarios now First of all you will need some hex editor (https://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/ - im using HxD. Then you will need to find folder with downloaded content from Creator club which is saved inside your User account/Documents/My Games/TrainSimWorld2 (or TrainSimWorld2EGS for Epic version)/Saved/PersistentDownloadDir/UGC/0/ there you will find all creators club stuff (all ends with .ugc) Lets begin with Scenarios - scenarios are easy, so before the start you will need to download some scenarios from creators club. Once you done then you will go into that PersistentDownloadDir and copy all .ugc scenarios files into the Saved/SaveGame/ folder. That folder include .sav files - like your profile, livery editor .sav file and other scenarios. Once you paste there scenarios from Creators club then its important to rename them. As you can see all original Planner scenarios got USD_ prefix and some random letters and numbers which are spaced with -. so it should be USD_8lettersnumbers-4-4-4-the rest.sav (.sav ending is important as thats what is the game looking for). Once you are done with renaming then its time to open HxD (or some other hex editor) and find some files from Creators club which you just renamed and would like to keep them in your Route Scenario Planner tools section. When you open some file then you should see something like that: So lets begin with editing. Let me show you another screen which should help you to guess what was done and what you will need to do: Now let me explain - left side is original Creator club file (the one which you renamed), right side is the final version of the file. So its very important to follow or it will break As you can see right side start with letter X.../ after that / is path to the file. Just remember that X is not on every file and it can be different. So its important to remember that you need to keep LETTER three dots and /, everything before that you can remove from the file (all that is marked blue on that left screen. Once you hit delete button you will got notification that with that action your size of the file will change and it can damage the file... dont worry about that, hit the Ok button and you should have the same result like its on the right side of the screen. Once you are done, save your work, exit the HxD and start your game. Now you should be able to see those scenarios inside each Route Scenario planner tools - if not then you did something wrong and then you should try again. Just dont publish somebody else work under your name as you are not creator (even if you just edit some mistakes). Use that just for you. Enjoy...
If this works, its great. I always wanted to change some trains on a few Scenarios from the CC just for my own enjoyment. Not going to reupload them of course.
Does this mean it's also possible to copy scenario's? For example, I've created a scenario in NTP with lots of AI and I want a similar scenario with some adjustments but don't want to create the scenario again, I just want to make a copy and use that.
No, unfortunately you cant really copy scenarios like Repaints, the Game gets confused and Display both but as the same, because their File name remains the same. Ive tried it to recycle scenarios with heavy AI, but it didnt work.
I'm trying to make this work on an ECW Class 66 Freightliner Powerhaul livery, and it just will not show up in the game. The converted livery has a hella-long name that shows up in the TSW2 livery manager when imported, and I wonder if this is what's causing the livery not to appear in my livery tool inside the game itself.
Ok guys, i tested that livery part by accident with different file which i downloaded before from the TSC page. Name of the reskin was the same so that was a huge mistake that i didnt noticed that. Now i have working version of the tutorial, i will post it later today as i need to take more screens.
Not yet, its still more complicated... i tried 20 liveries (and only 2 worked ) That will require some more time.
I tried this with a Creators Club livery in TSW3. I could do all the steps but it didn't work for me. Either it doesn't work with TSW3 or I am not doing something correctly. Anyone any ideas?
