hello all, as i cant make my own game, i could make my own mods for train simulator classic! i am going to try to make a class 357 and the c2c route from shoeburyness to fenchurch street. but i would like some help on getting started please.
This is a way too general question, like "How do I build my own house?". Check Youtube, there's a good amount of tutorials. Start with a small route, then expand it. The more you learn, the more often you will start from scratch again, so don't set yourself too high goals as a beginner.
Not to dissuade you of course but there is a group of people making that - but I would say if you plan big without knowing the tools you will fail, that, of course, sounds harsh but I talk from experience here - when i first started I tried that - did about 1 mile of track got bored and didn't want to try again. (but i experimented with the tools and made a fictional route, well a few of them ) I suggest just experimenting with the tools to see what they do and how they work and also looking at any tutorials, especially for track (easements in particular are important), that's what i did with TS1, and also with TSW when I had the chance with the editor. (with TS1 i have at least 15 years of experience with the route editor, so i know what I'm talking about ) The LTS thing - SB Games Developments. From my own experience, I have rebuilt many sections of my route more than once as I have found better ways to do things. Do a couple of fictional ones first, before doing the route you actually want to build, or be prepared to scrap it and start again more than once.
