It is not possible to install mod on the Microsoft Store version since it is the same build than the Xbox.
Thats wrong information here. You can use almost all mods on the Xbox Gamepass Version for PC as well. Even Godmode you can use and its working perfectly fine with a smal exception. You just have to keep in mind that the gamepass version uses a different folder structure (like separate folders for every DLC), and that most modders either dont now or dont care to give the correct intallation instructions for gamepass version. You need to drop your *.pak files accordingly into the respective DLC directory. For global mods like Godmode just pick a random DLC folder and drop it there. Some mods do not work because the modder either dont know, or doing something obviously different than other modders, who have their mods working on gamepass version. There are also cases where mods have to deal with files that are for whatever reason encrypted on the Gamepass version (Like tha save files) or other weird stuff within the folder structure of XBox Games Games on PC. The lighting enchancement mod from JetWash is such an example - But there are workarounds, together with a god mode feature, to make even that absolutely amazing mod working perfectly fine. Overall using mods with the Xbox gamepass version is, lets say to 90%, working with all mods. However, the installation is not as straight forward like on the steam version, where you literally just drop everything into always the same folder.
Thanks for sharing the process to the community, it's good to know. I wasn't aware it was now possible. It wasn't possible few years ago when I tested the last time!
That I did not test yet, I think the Gamepass PC Version runs natively on DX12 though. Never had the need to enforce it yet
