Will existing mods work from Tsw5 work on Tsw6 or will they have to be redone again to work. Many thanks.

Well going from previous experiences the majority will work if the core hasn’t been too radically changed. But only time will tell and there might be some casualties. They try not to break too much because of bringing older trains into new route TT’s.

Does that mean if you upgrade to TSW6, it’ll carry all the installed mods over or will you have to reinstall them again?

When you install TSW6 the mods will move over with the PAK files folder copied from TSW5 and should run as they did, those that work at least. In my experience so far most have.
Once TSW6 is installed you can remove TSW5.

This isn't correct, the PAK files folder isn't copied over from a previous game, it's installed from scratch (hence the massive download for all previously-owned DLC). Mods will need to be copied over/redownloaded manually.

I personally won't delete my TSW5 installation for a while afterwards, there's no guarantee what old content might have been messed up with the move to TSW6.

This is going to be interesting to see, since I have installed all mod pak files into this folder and not the folder where TSW installs them.

Incorrect. My mods have showed up without ever needing to transfer them over so how exactly do explain that? The reason the install takes so long is because it copies everything over from the old PAK files into the new install, if it didn’t do this you wouldn’t get any of your old stuff in the new game.

I don't, because it's never happened to me. When I installed TSW5, it downloaded all my DLC from Steam. There was no copying across from my TSW4 install, either of DLC or mods. Judging by the many tales of how long it takes to download the latest version of the game and all its DLC, you appear to be alone in there being some form of local DLC transfer.

It's possible, but chances are we will see some crashes unless the mods are updated. So I'd recommend that you start with a vanilla installation and carefully add mods later, while keeping an eye out for problems.
