I am suggesting the section between Bakersfield and Tehachapi cement, this would be about 55.77 mi. (89.75 km) This route could be set in the current era with BNSF and Union Pacific or the 1990s era with Santa Fe and Southern Pacific/ Cotton Belt. This route would feature of 2 operators, several tunnels and the Tehachapi Loop. Not sure how many services there are or if there are any local services Rollingstock (*=what I think should come with the route, **=possible layer/ reskin required) 1990s SP/ SSW **GP40-2 SD40R SD45R *SD40T-2 *SD45T-2 SD45T-2R ATSF *GP60M *GP60B **SD40-2 SDF40-2 *SD45 SD45-2 FP45 C30-7 C41-8W Current UP *SD70M **SD70ACe *,**AC4400CW **ES44AC C44ACM 9-44CW BNSF GP60M *9-44CW **AC4400CW AC44C4M (dash 9 dc to ac conversion) ES44DC **ES44AC **ES44C4 *ET44C4 EMD SD40T-2 (1990s) EMD SD45T-2 (1990s) EMD SD45 (1990s) EMD GP60M (1990s) EMD GP60B (1990s) EMD SD70M (current) GE AC4400CW (current) GE 9-44CW (current) ET44C4 (current)
I'd love to see Santa Fe/BNSF Spartan Cab GP60s as well as SP/SSW and UP versions. Santa Fe/BNSF SD75Ms/SD75Is, B40-8s, B40-8Ws, and C40-8Ws/C41-8Ws are a must-have for me. Also, ATSF F45s, C30-7s/SF30Cs and SP B39-8s would be great to see. I would love to see this route set in the 1950s-60s with SP Cab Forwards (in the 1950s), SD9s, SD7s, FMs, Alco RSD-15 "Alligators", and other classic SP locomotives, along with ATSF FTs, F3s, or F7s, GP7s, GP9s, GP20s, RSD-15s, FMs, SD24s, etc.
that's rather a lot to ask from DTG or any 3rd parties interested. Also, is the game even up to heavy duty single track traffic with dynamically changing meets? dispatching Tehachapi in Run8 can already be a challenge, how will TSW's equivalent of 'Otto' do this, since manual dispatching is out of the question?
Not to mention Tehachapi, like Cajon, has been done to death in several sims (even Trainz) and - for all its primitive graphics - Run 8 still probably the best way to experience the route.
