Dear all. With the upcoming Stuttgart route, it came back on me that I'd really love to see more stuff from the 1970s and 1980s. Back then in the case of Germany the 110 was the backbone for D-Zug or fast express lines, the 103 for Intercity services, the 141 for regional trains, 150 and 151 for cargo trains and the upcoming 420 for commuter services. Trains were colorful and had a wide variety ranging from pre-WWII train consists via post war to modern consists. The following lines would be most interesting: 1. Rollbahn between Münster and Osnabrück to Bremen 2. Spessartrampe from Wurzburg to Frankfurt Main 3. Geislinger Steige between Stuttgart and Ulm 4. Munich to Garmisch 5. Cross border to East Germany And many more As you can see there'd be a lot of potential both for rolling stock and routes. Kind regards.
I would also like to see the UIC Am and Bm long distance coaches, in their original guise with the very uncomfortable seats in second class. Heart used to sink getting off the boat at Hook Of Holland or Ostend and finding the train to Denmark or Switzerland was going to offer nothing more than a hard plastic cushion and short back rest for an 8 hour journey! How did DB get away with running such uncomfortable rolling stock?
