This was posted in the DTG Discord as well: https://discord.com/channels/1324687416128180286/1421533805524549742 Suggestion: To implement more controls over how the game determines whether to use the original (base) livery or a livery designed by the Player/downloaded from the Creators Club. Examples of situations this would solve: Say you want to represent a different era with the same stock (e.g. put 323s in London Midland colours on the Cross City line), then sure - you can drive one and if you're lucky a few more will spawn, but you're guaranteed to get a few with the regular WMT livery. Perhaps one of the most notable use cases is for locomotive-hauled trains. Say you wanted to run a timetabled freight service with a rake of wagons in e.g. GBRf colours - you have no control whatsoever over which liveries the wagons would spawn with. Or, for fun - say you want to take over a route with a completely fictional livery. Same as the first example, you can drive one and if you're lucky a few more will spawn, but you have no control over this. Finally, this would also solve long standing issues with some trains spawning custom liveries more often than not, some not spawning them at all and everything in between. My proposed solution: Implement a menu where the player can control all of their liveries (base/creators club/own designs) on all their rolling stock (that is compatible with the livery designer) and move the current AI Livery Usage setting (Active/Inactive) over to there. This setting would be renamed to e.g. AI Spawn Frequency and the options expanded to e.g. Never/Unique/Rare/Sometimes/Often/Always. How this could work: 1+ livery set to Always: 100% chance of train spawning with an 'Always' livery. 0 liveries set to Always: 60% chance of train spawning with an 'Often' livery, 30% chance of train spawning with a 'Sometimes' livery and 10% chance of train spawning with a 'Rare' livery. By default, the base livery would be set to ‘Often’ and downloaded/created liveries would be set to Rare. If the game picked a category which had no liveries allocated to it, it would default to the base livery. Each livery in a category would have an equal chance of being selected. ' Unique' liveries would be in the 'Rare' pool, but the game would first check whether one is already spawned and if there was, it would pick another from the 'Rare' pool.
100% for this and we should do this with formation too because I find them useless that we cannot use them in the timetable like liveries I also find that the creator club in general needs an update.
