A list of some SD70s I want to see in-game. The EMD SD70 is a series of diesel-electric locomotives produced by the US company Electro-Motive Diesel. This locomotive family is an extension and improvement of the EMD SD60 series. Production commenced in late 1992 and since then over 5,700 units have been produced; most of these are the SD70M, SD70MAC and SD70ACe models (all numbers next to the name are how many were ordered) SD70 (80 NS) SD70M (71 NS, 1452 UP) SD70MAC (786 BNSF, 220 CSX) SD70M-2 (190 CN, 130 NS) SD70ACe-T4 (10 CSX, 100 UP)
I really want the UP SD70ACe-T4, along with CSX (ST70AH), Progress Rail/EMD Demo (love that livery!), and PRLX Leasing (Banana livery) units. KCS and Alaska RR also ordered SD70MACs. We should get routes for those, too. We could also get some BN executive SD70MACs, too. Santa Fe in the mid-1990s ordered 51 SD75Ms, with BNSF ordering a further 25 units after the BN/ATSF merger in 1996. BNSF (26 units), CN (175 units), and ON (6 units) ordered SD75Is with isolated cabs. These were basically uprated SD70Ms with 4300HP. Some of the BNSF units were sold to Progress Rail and NS, so SD75s in those liveries could also be included. CN has recently received 50 rebuilt SD75IACCs with AC Traction Motors and electrical upgrades. Speaking of rebuilds, there are several other rebuilt SD70-series locomotives: -NS SD70ACC: SD70 Spartan Cab units rebuilt with new wide cabs and AC traction motors -NS/CP/CPKC SD70ACU: Rebuilt SD90-43MACs with electrical upgrades and SD70ACe-style cabs -NS SD70ICC: Rebuilt from NS SD70M-2s with AC traction motors; NS is the only RR to roster these units, and they only have 2 units so far. -SD70AC/SD70MACe: BNSF, CSX, and KCS have rebuilt some of their SD70MACs with upgraded electrical systems. BNSF should do more of these rebuilds. -Then we have Metra, who recently received 15 ex-KCS SD70MACs rebuilt to Tier 3-compliance and with upgraded electrical systems and HEP for passenger services. These are used on certain lines in Chicago. There are options for 27 more.
